Here's one I did a few years ago for my Dad as a gift. A replica of his 1/1 Chevelle. It's a Lindberg kit, MCG photoetch set, underdash gauges, and some interior junk. Some scratchbuilding, kitbashing, under hood detailing, and photoreduced plates. Thanks for looking, comment at will. :)

Nice and clean build!! Keep up the good work and the posts!!

Can you imagine what it was like to stop that 396 with those old single cylinder master brake, 4 wheel drum systems?

I will second that, I have a 1968 Charger with 4 wheel drums and trying to get it to stop quickly was very interesting.

Great job on the Chevelle, the details you put into this one is amazing.

Nice looking model !!

My 69 Mustang has 4 drums, and stopping is something you "plan".. LOL I have front disc spindles for it, and I had the money saved to do the conversion until Christmas came...and the $$ went toward kids presents...

Yeah, I've got 4 wheel drums on my 71 Nova too, it used to try to jump curbs when I stabbed the brakes . Anyway, Dad's Chevelle is a Power Tour Long Hauler 4-5 times now(3800 miles last year alone), done a partial tour a few more times, drives to the Chevelle Nationals in Tennessee(from Iowa) almost every year, and all over heck during the summer months, and now he's retired. I know he replaced everything(stock parts) when he got it, around 10yrs ago, in all the miles he has driven he hasn't mentioned anything scary with the brakes.....yet. Thanks for lookin'

Ah, nothing cooler than a red Chevelle with Cragars! A beautiful build, Rob. This car reminds me of a time in the '70s & '80s, there was a girl in our area who drove a gorgeous red '67, with Cragars. My 1/1 car, an Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite, also has four wheel drum brakes, but weighing less than 2,000 lbs. helps stop it!

VERY NICE BUILD. The red paint looks awesome. I have a soft spot for 64-70 Chevelles. I posted a 67 in red with a black vinyl top last night I built around 7 years ago. It also was based an a 1/1 car. Keep up the great work.

I have a '66 Toro with the original 425, single fruit-jar res., and 4way drums that my Father brought home when I was 3yrs old..... When I was 16yrs old, my Pop and I were coming down a Local "Hill"(Think San Fran Long Drop Style like in old Movies) that has two stop lights within a few feet of eachother at the bottom, even in low gear and off & on braking, the brakes overheated and we went through both red lights before coming to a stop :o Needless to say, when that car gets an overhaul, the first thing changed will be the fruit-jar for a later dual, and the front drums will become Discs(Rears may become Eldo/Toro/Seville Rear Discs as well!)...

Amazingly Beautiful 66 Chevol Rob B)
