gasser59 Posted October 10, 2017 Author Posted October 10, 2017 Thanks Ray. I'm still working on the fisherman's vest.
gasser59 Posted October 11, 2017 Author Posted October 11, 2017 Was able to get the shelf installed last night. It tough to show it in place because its dark in there. Here's a couple of pics.
Greg Wann Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Nice. Now you need to work on that grain of wheat light bulb.
gasser59 Posted October 14, 2017 Author Posted October 14, 2017 Now you need to work on that grain of wheat light bulb.I know. For this and the Carney Wagon.
Greg Wann Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 I am hosting the build session at my house next Saturday. Are you coming?
gasser59 Posted October 15, 2017 Author Posted October 15, 2017 I am hosting the build session at my house next Saturday. Are you coming? That's my plan. Not sure I'll be bringing anything to work on though. I'm even going to try and bring the other Greg.
Greg Wann Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 (edited) COOL! Since we bought this somewhat extravagant two acre property with a big house and decent sized shop on the back edge we feel like the Beverly Hillbillies. The street we live on is known here as millionaire row. My wife and I still both work jobs. She's the one making the big money. She is in charge of federal stuff for a small school district way over by Dale Mickley now. Edited October 15, 2017 by Greg Wann
gasser59 Posted October 16, 2017 Author Posted October 16, 2017 I'm looking forward to seeing your place.
gasser59 Posted May 1, 2019 Author Posted May 1, 2019 Thanks Elvin. If I still had this dio in my possession, I'd still be adding to it. I donated it to a 501(c) 3 for their annual raffle. Might build another one similar to this one in the future.
Breezy Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 This is too cool. That fly rod and case are great. Very inspirational.
gasser59 Posted April 22, 2023 Author Posted April 22, 2023 (edited) Well, this dio has re-emerged. I donated this build to my flyfishing club for their annual raffle and a friend won it. His nephew was completely enamored with it so he gave it to him. After a time, his child got a hold of it and really did some damage. I have it back in my possession to repair it in order to take it to GSL next month. I'll post some pictures of it in its current state in a few minutes. Edited April 22, 2023 by gasser59
gasser59 Posted May 8, 2023 Author Posted May 8, 2023 Just got back late last night from my first GSL and unfortunately, it is the last one. I entered this project in the Diorama class and am so ecstatic it took top honors. I am completely floored. The number of entries and quality of builds was astounding. So glad I got this back in my possession to get it repaired. Here's picture of it on the contest table and a picture of the slide. I'm still in disbelief! 2
1930fordpickup Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 Congratulations that is well worth the award. I am guessing it was good that you had to repair it.
gasser59 Posted May 10, 2023 Author Posted May 10, 2023 Thanks for the compliments fellas. It was totally worth any effort to bring this project back to being able to show. Sorry I didn't get any pictures of it before repairing it.
gasser59 Posted May 12, 2023 Author Posted May 12, 2023 (edited) This will stay in my possession for the future. Edited May 12, 2023 by gasser59
Straightliner59 Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 That's awesome, Brad! It's a great feeling to win a class at GSL. Congratulations, sir!
David G. Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 Congratulations Brad! It's an honor that's certainly well deserved. David G.
