hjracing Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 I'm happy you take this project again on the bench. The wheels/tires combo from Fireball looks awesome. Keep it coming!
mikemodeler Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I am liking those wheels and tires, have to look into getting some.I sure wish Moebius decides to take on the 73-79 F series trucks soon, they have them half developed already! Just looking at that side shot and the long wheelbase makes me cringe.
zaina Posted April 9, 2016 Author Posted April 9, 2016 Added drip rails and got it in primer. Hopefully I can get some paint on it today
signguy2108 Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Good start! Wish I had the ability to do engine detail, never have been able to get those little-bitty plug wires on! Looks good
zaina Posted April 9, 2016 Author Posted April 9, 2016 Got the paint on. Tamiya light gun metal decanted and sprayed through my airbrush.
GTJUNIOR Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Awesome paint work. Looks glass smooth. I assume that this is before clear?
gatorincebu Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Really like your choice of color ! Nice smooth paint job. Be Well Gator
Jhedir6 Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Brought this one back out. I raised the windshield opening. I also picked up a set of Goodyear MTR's and method wheels from fireball modelworks. These things are beautiful. Highly recommended. I need to machine some braked drums so that I can get the tires spaced out farther. Here is how it sits. Nice looking truck. I too just got a set of KMC wheels and the Goodyear tires from Fireball as well. And yes, they are things of beauty. Will be watching for updates. David
zaina Posted October 5, 2016 Author Posted October 5, 2016 I just finished my model A roadster so I thought I would bring this one back and maybe finish it...maybe. Was able to get the dash detail done.
zaina Posted October 9, 2016 Author Posted October 9, 2016 I ended up finding decals for the gauges so I glued them in and then applied epoxy over them to simulate glass. I also got the wheel offset done and got them painted. I could help but do a quick mockup.
gatorincebu Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Cool wheels and tires. Nice job on the dash ! Be Well Gator
BLOODBANE Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 That dash looks amazing. I had a 73, 1:1, back in the day and I remembering looking at that dash (a lot)....
zaina Posted April 5, 2017 Author Posted April 5, 2017 I was staring at the interior tub forever trying to figure out how to mask the door panels. I decided to cut the side off for ease of masking. Glued it back together and added seat belts...interior done. Also found the time and ambition to clear the body parts.
iamsuperdan Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 You're doing a terrific job on a horrible kit!I'm working on this kit too, and it's fought me every step of the way. Nothing fits right.
zaina Posted April 6, 2017 Author Posted April 6, 2017 Forgot to show the chassis. I built my own exhaust. Not the greatest but better than the kit pieces. Also couldn't help a mock up.
Belugawrx Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Forgot to show the chassis. I built my own exhaust. Not the greatest but better than the kit pieces. Also couldn't help a mock up. Looks great AndyThe mock-up looks like a leveling kit was installed,..... 2 Thumbs up
zaina Posted July 15, 2017 Author Posted July 15, 2017 Back at it again!! Was able to wet sand and buff a couple of dust nibs out of the clear and get it all bmf'd up. Also machined a brake booster but couldn't get the pic to load so will show that later. Here is how it looks
Fordboy1975 Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Awesome, glad to see your back on this again, your closer on yours than I am on mine, I have to make the wheelbase on the bed the regular kind, and I have to fix all the issues with the cab, along with many other things
