6bblbird Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 One of the most realistic models...ever! Absolutely beautiful! WF
Sixties Sam Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Perfect rendition of a true classic! Beautiful finish, very well done! Great work! Sam
buffalobill Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 (edited) Incredibly realistic looking - esp the beautiful paint & chrome work! My very first car (when I was 17 yrs old) was a low mileage, but very rusty, '54 Commander post-coupe that I paid '50. for in 1962, That car taught me all about Bondo and how to rummage thru junkyards. Many of my high school mates laughed when I told them I bought a Stude - that is, until they saw it in done up in flat black primer (that I shot thru a jury-rigged, reverse-flow old Electrolux torpedo-shaped vacuum cleaner). And, it never failed to start, even in below zero winters in upstate NY. I customized it a bit: $10./ for a nice original '55 Studebaker red vinyl-pleated interior, and other than some mild de-chroming, a Schaefer Beer tap handle for a shift knob, some grill mesh out of a '58 Ford, and a set of '53 Fiesta hubcaps (found on an abandoned '50s Olds in a field), it was otherwise stock). Funny thing is that I'll about the same amount of $$ invested in an AMT '53 Studebaker kitbash that I'm about to start on that's being done up as a what-if factory concept car w/ an Avanti R3 drivetrain and other subtle upgrades. But, your superb factory-stock build has convinced me to go easy on any mods to the original '53 design - it was that perfect then, and now! Your model is the finest build I've ever seen of AMT's '53 Studebaker kit! Congrats! Edited May 15, 2014 by buffalobill
Monty Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Amazing work as always. This is why I admire the replica stock pros.
Jehan17 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 One of the best compliments you can give to a fellow modeler is that his model looks like a shrunk version of the real thing and you have done that. Congradulations. I'd be curious as to how you got the headlights to look so good. To me they are such a part of the "soul" of a car.
ratdoggy Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 (edited) If I was 1/25th scale I'd be trying to put a key in the door lock Very nice job Edited May 15, 2014 by ratdoggy
Tom Geiger Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Very, very nice! And a reminder that even the best show cars have some wear on their underside!

unclescott58 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Wow! Nice '53. Nice paint. Great choice of colors. And great detail work on the engine, interior, and chassis. It looks like you did a little research to get things right. I like it a lot. Scott
TFchronos Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Wow, that is amazingly beautiful. The paint is nothing short of perfect the detail to the engine and interior is stunning. If it wasn't for the background I'd say that was real and dare anyone to say otherwise. Gorgeous car, amazing work on it!
hobbybobby Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Yes, Yuri, that is in fact the most beautiful model of this car as it has already been said and you are truly a master builder!
