Obivion
Dear friends, After I have finished the Volksrod I wanted to built something different. For I while this 1934 Rolls Royce Phantom II was waithing to be built. So I started and want to use it to try some more things. I have some ideas but don't have anything concrete so we will see where it ends. I shortenend the body, because in real it is a huge car and also to fit an old Mercedes roof on it. The chassis must be shortened too somewhere in the middle. I also cut off the front and rear ends off the chassis. I cut off the front spring leafs. They will get one single leaf. The back end of the body is closed with styrene, I don't use the Original boot... Dennis Edited April 29, 2014 by Obivion
mrm
Now, THIS will be very interesting. I love wacky projects like this. This will never happen in real life and it makes it all that more enjoyable to see a model like that.

Obivion
I have been doing some work on the chassis and body. The body is shorter and the rear doors removed. Also added the Mercedes roof. The chassis is shortened and will be Z-ed. Still have to figure out many thing as it is my first attempt doing something like this. If it goes wrong totally, I still have a second kit of this same car, so I have some spare parts Dennis
Obivion
Today I did some sanding. There is much more to do, but al least there is a start. Dennis

jbwelda
this is so kool...and if you are not totally set on using that stock looking engine, you might think about putting an Allison engine in instead, from the AMT parts pack that's been reissued a number of times. might give it more of a hot rod feel. it is 1/25 though so it might appear a bit small, especially next to that huge Roller mill! jb
Obivion
I know about that Allison engine and i was thinking about buying one. Pretty cool. But it is quite expensive to get it to Holland. The parts pack I found on Ebay. They cost $25 plus $30 for shipping... Dennis
Obivion
Today I did some more filling and sanding, and closed the rear wheel arches. The body needs some more detailing, but it has the basic form now. I can't choose if I shall close the rear windows or keep them open.... mrm
I like it a lot, but I think you need to either even that belt line or figure a way to mimic it with the window opening on the roof.
slusher
I Really like this project., a kit and build I am not familiar with and very interesting. Solid start..
Jantrix
I have a Johan Mercedes kit I've been sitting for a while now, that I'm planning a hot rod build with. You are making me want to dive in now. Looking good, keep at it.

Obivion
Yes i think i keep them open. I want to place the fueltank in the back. When i close the windows you can not see the fuel tank anymore. Dennis
