kilrathy10 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) Building this for fun....This is just one of those "in betweeners" till I get ready for something a little more serious....No interior for the sleeper or anything....Just practicing my masking skills.....If you will?? Started with the old snap Pete from Revell and extended the frame....Added a scratchbuilt sleeper and here we go....A buddy of mine built something similar and I thought I'd give it a go with my take on it.... Brinx Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Nice work JT..the sleeper looks solid, and the colors work for me!
Mopar - D Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Looking good JT are you going to clear coat it or go with a weathered look.
kwtrucker Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Cool, double wind jammer!! JT are those colors flat?
kilrathy10 Posted May 13, 2014 Author Posted May 13, 2014 (edited) Thanks, Guys....The colors are Duplicolor Navy Blue and Bermuda Blue.....Unfortunately, the humidity around here is AMAZING, like all the the time.....A little Future takes good care of that....It'll shine like new money....I did that, this afternoon....I'll update with some more pics, soon..... Tesla Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 This lucky trucker has all the conveniences of home. Looks awesome JT!
slusher Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Very cool project JT, very nice color choices. Real solid start..
purepmd Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 As always JT, very cool. Did you make the rear sleeper wall, (chrome part)?
Brinx Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 JT always as nicely equipped rigs for his drivers. I hear his drivers are also about the best compensated in the US (as are his contracted O/O's)
outkast1027 Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 need to post a pic of my super stretched rig and 55ft trailer you built for me. wound up being over 4ft long
Kostas Parchas Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 JT, your 359 looks really cool with that sleeper and the color combo is fine. Kostas.
kilrathy10 Posted May 17, 2014 Author Posted May 17, 2014 (edited) Oh, hey there, Jeremy....I forgot about that one....Yeah, you need to post it with some good shots of that thing....Turned out good.....Yep....4' long....Outstanding... And, thanks, Guys....I've been working quite a bit, these days, and haven't been able to get to this one.....This weekend, just opened up, though....I'm gonna do some, today.... And, Mark, I did make that bang board for the back out of some evergreen stock or something and painted it with my favorite chrome silver paint.....That stuff, in my opinion, can't be beat.....One step, and it's as good as Alclad.....And MUCH cheaper.....You don't even have to prime....As long as the mold release agent has been washed off, anyway, but you can prime with flat black and it takes good care of that, too....Shines like new money.....And NO cleanup....Used it on the fuel tanks, too... kilrathy10 Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 Getting really close to finishing.....Just have to install grab handles on the stacks, and I may make those bigger, as well....Undecided, though.....But this is what I have, so far.....Gotta figure out what I'm gonna pull with this thing, as well....
sweeper Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Love your trucks and trailers. I have to keep wiping up the drool on my table. Keep up the good work.
tbill Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 that is too cool, that thing is huge! love the color scheme, looks awesome JT!
Rigzndiesel Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 JT That is a really cool "in betweener" model. You have a nice addition to the fleet! Jeff
kilrathy10 Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 (edited) Getting closer....I added a lowboy trailer I had worked with, extensively, to produce what you see here.....I had all these transformers from the all the lowboy kits I've built over the years....Never used them for anything serious till, now....I'm almost done with it....Needs some lights and chains to tie them down, an "Oversized Load" sign or two, and maybe some air and electrical lines....Then I think I can call it done....Thanks boys for looking.....
