Porscheman Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 (edited) I have done many builds for this guy, but this one took me 12 years. I lost it for the 1st 5 years When I found it, I had my friend Al mix and air brush the salmon color. I let it sit and then when I decided to finish it, I chipped the paint on the hood. I tried to call my friend Al for a while to do a touch up and found out he'd passed away. So back in the cabinet it went. Next I got sick and haven't been able to finish it. Thanks to my friend Dave, he was able to match the paint job perfectly. Thank goodness for good modeller friends. It took 12 years and shipped today, hope he likes it or remember it Al Edited May 19, 2014 by Porscheman
Chuck Most Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Wow- nice! Can't believe that's a TKM casting. It's tough to make one of those look even presentable, much less good. This one looks good to me.
Dave Van Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Very cool....my best buddy's Dad had one just like that in the 80's....he traded it for a Hudson....
Porscheman Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Thanks guys!!! Tomorrow I'll be posting my one day restoration project of a 1960 Edsel Convertible glue bomb. Al
Danno Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 A TKM? Hard to believe! It looks like a car. In fact, it looks really good. That's why it's hard to believe it started out as a TKM. You did a phenomenal job of turning that t-u-r-d into a good-looking model!
Porscheman Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Thanks everyone! I'm glad you like the way it came out. I hated building this thing, I sure hope he doesn't buy anymore. Al
bbowser Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Great model of a seldom seen car. It was worth the effort!
realgone58 Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 This is the absolute best build I've ever seen of a TKM resin. Incredible! He's gonna love it!

You did a phenomenal job of turning that t-u-r-d into a good-looking model! Yeah....I was thinking "TKM and 12-year project" sounds about right together. Very nice job, especially considering what you had to start with. Charlie Larkin
