LunaticRick Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 This is my Dart replica I finished about a year ago, took about a year off & on to build. Yep, I'm a slower builder.............LOL I used as much detail I could to resemble my 1-1 Dart. The paint is dupli-color poppy red lacquer as on the 1-1 and a vinyl roof from model car garage. I used a Mr. Norm's kit which is a "GT/GSS" version, so had to do some scratch building & alterations to make it a "270" trim version. Has a Ross Gibson 340 detailed to replicate my 318c.i. motor. I used numerous photo etched parts for details, completely wired, plumbed and detailed the motor & engine bay area. Scratch built the headers & exhaust from .062" solder. Added fuel and brake lines from front to rear. Scratch built the front bench seat and covered both with real leather. Reworked entire interior to match the 1-1 including floor mats. Thanks Rick
slusher Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Man that is a super sharp Dart. Great color, finish and detail..
bbowser Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Really nice model! Great detailing on the engine and dash.
Guest Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Just stunning! Is the body colored rear panel correct for a slant 6 Dart?
LunaticRick Posted May 27, 2014 Author Posted May 27, 2014 Thank you all very much! Lee, yes it is. I had to alter the gt/gss rear panel in the kit to have just the thin, center strip with Dodge on it. The 1-1 was originally a slant six with the creamy yellow color. Rebuilt to this by the original owner's son in 1998.
