Chuck Most Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Did this as a project for a CBP on another board- http://offroadmodels.proboards.com/thread/1475/build-memory-great-friend-larry?page=1 Here's the end result- The front bumper is scratch built, as is much of the suspension, which I made to look like a "long arm" lift setup. The winch and hook are resin from an unknown source, and the tires are from the Revell Wrangler Rubicon, with Monogram F-250 wheels. Basically it was just a "quick" and simple project, but it was spread out over the course of a few months as I got side tracked by other projects.
BenDover78 Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 (edited) I have had a set of those F250 rims for a few years but Ive never thought about putting them in the MT tires. I bought a set of resin lockout for my tires. The Jeep looks amazing as well! Edited May 29, 2014 by BenDover78
Guest Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Came out looking nice Chuck! I like all of the changes you did to it! I need to get back to my Pathfinder project someday.
slusher Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Super nice build Chuck. Real good choice on the wheels and tires..
johnbuzzed Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Really nice, clean build, Chuck. I have one of these that I picked up when they first came out; your build gives me a little inspiration for mine.
FullPowerGarage Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Nice, had to look twice, wasn't sure if it was a model or not..
TooOld Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Very nice Chuck ! I'm not into off road stuff but your work is excellent !
Wolfangel Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 By any chance you have the decals for that Jeep....I see you didn't use them. The gold strips and badging. Just curious
Dr. Cranky Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Love the look of this one so high off the ground. Perfect color too.
JTalmage Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 If you would have shown me just the 2nd picture. I would have swore it was real. Dont know why, but there's just something about the 2nd picture that makes it look real life. Good work!
SlotDaddy1963 Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Very Sweet! I agree with Todd though... Needs MUD on it!
LouO Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Real nice build! I have one of these kits still sitting in the box and had the intention of doing something like it, but you actually did it! Very nice!
blackandwhite Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 It looks awesome. I have the same kit and wanted to start on it and misplaced the rear bumper for it! I planned to drop it low into the weeds but there's a lot of suspension work to be done to do that
