VW Dave Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 How long overdue is a proper 1/24-1/25 Baja bug model.....only like forever, right? Well, the wait might just be over, thanks to a certain MD-based resin caster. Sometime in September is the proposed release date, and the pricing is still TBD, but the pre-production pieces I have in hand tell me it's gonna be a winner. I can answer most questions about it, but all inquiries/feedback/pre-order pleas should be sent to normanveber@aol.com
blubaja Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Yes! These are 1/24 scale. They will work with the tamiya and polar lights chasiss.
randx0 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Looks cool . I've attempted these but can never get the headlight area to look right ,this looks right .
scaleautobuilder Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 I want one, Please let me know when they are ready. Bruce
JTalmage Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 I would consider one as well! Always did like baja bugs. Not big on the bugeye front end, but it'll do
Zarana-X Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 This looks awesome! Never bought a resin kit before. Hope it's affordable.
DrGlueblob Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 GO NORM! ..Now, just get a storefront on this interweb thingie..
Dale W. Verts Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Any chance for a wide-eye version? Not complaining, but I like them better. GREAT, by the way. I WILL be building one (some) of these! Dale
VW Dave Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 No chance of a wide-eye from RepMinCo, unfortunately. I may, however, have a spare Revell-based resin wide-eye body that I wouldn't miss, Dale.....PM or email me: plasticman1432@gmail.com If anyone is seriously considering this body kit from Norm, please drop him a line so he knows the demand is there.
carsntrucks4you Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I have to get one of these or 2 or 3 or more

Woohoo! I'm gonna "bug" him about it!! Sorry, couldn't resist! That look really cool !
Ron Hamilton Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 I saw Norm Today, as well as the car, and placed my order. It's that good. Now I need to find a set of tires and wheels.
blubaja Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Would people want a set of wheels and tires cast specifically for this? I was using the Jeep wagon wheels and big and little knobbies.
FASTBACK340 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 I almost died several times in a `68 swing-axle Baja back in the 80's. I loved that car. I must build one.

JordanFordF1 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Paint it yellow and black and I'll have my old '67 back. I'm for the wide-eye front too but I'd be on board for buying this.
Dale W. Verts Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 (edited) I've visited with Norm via email (great guy, seems like). Does he have a website? Dale Edited August 9, 2014 by Dale W. Verts
peter31a Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 No, he does not have a website. If you've already corresponded via e-mail, send him a note requesting his current catalogue. He is great to deal with and has his hands full trying to fill orders as it is without having a website. There are some fotki sites with pics of some of his parts. You'll have to do a google search to find them or someone might post a link.
Dale W. Verts Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Thanks Peter- I was hoping to give him a little advertisement. Dale
PatW Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Super looking bodyshell, yes I might be looking for one ----or even two!
