cobraman Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 This will be the next one on the bench. AMT 59 El Camino. 1997 release. Got it on ebay for a good price. Wasn't sure what to do with it but I think I will go for a mild custom. Thinking light blue with a dark blue interior. Painted steel wheels with baby moons. Stock engine. No bumpers. Lowered a tad. That's the plan anyway.

DynoMight Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 This would be cool with some metallic blue flames that were a tad darker.... Excited to see this Ray, always like El Caminos
Guest Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 (edited) Yep, ala a article in a 1993 I think issue of SAE. Edited July 23, 2014 by midnightprowler
cobraman Posted July 24, 2014 Author Posted July 24, 2014 Well, since it is 113 outside I was able (forced) to stay in and work on this wip. Most parts are now painted and you wouldn't believe how fast the paint dried out in the garage. : ) Anyway, it still needs to be cleared. Chassis is molded with the X frame as a single piece so it was a pain to mask and spray. I only needed to touch up a little as it came out pretty good.
TooOld Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 You got my attention now , my first '59 was Baby Blue !
