guitarsam326 Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Here's the finished Diamond Reo, still think I went overboard on the mud, but it looks ok. I started this model about three years ago, that's why theres no air or electrical lines. when I picked it back up in june, the frame of the truck and trailer was already painted with wheels and tires, as well as the trailer and cab. I didn't have the heart to tear it all apart to add the extras. as always all criticism welcomed!
Kenny B Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I like it. Needs more dirt on the cab I think. But it looks real nice. Kenny B
tbill Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Sam, that's awesome man weathering looks great, well done sir.
guitarsam326 Posted July 24, 2014 Author Posted July 24, 2014 Thanks guys! There is mud on the cab Kenny, but it's a very light spray, but I agree it could use a little more!
Chuck Most Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Very nice! I personally think the mud looks about right, like it just drove off the site and down a short stretch of dirt road before it hit the main highway.
disabled modeler Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 I like it..! Maybe some grease or oil residue..?
Jim B Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Looks really nice. I like the weathering. Not overdone.
Superpeterbilt Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 This came out great Sam. Great job on the mud. Very authentic
towman1271 Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 dirty ol girl is the way it should look...she was built to work..Amazing job!!!!!
purepmd Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 This came out great Sam. Great job on the mud. Very authentic I agree. washed more than my share of mud off my trucks, and you got the pattern of splatters down.
Petetrucker07 Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 I agree. washed more than my share of mud off my trucks, and you got the pattern of splatters down. Even the slinging in the wheel well
guitarsam326 Posted July 25, 2014 Author Posted July 25, 2014 thanks a lot guys, I stumbled on some weathering powders by A.I.M. at a local hobby shop and it was the last pack they had and you could tell it was old! they had 40 bucks on it and I asked the guy up front if he would take any less and he said hows 20 sound, I couldn't get the money out fast enough. anyways this is my first attempt at mud, but I give all the credit to the powder, it was super easy to work with.
slusher Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Super nice. that's how they look around here. If you think its to much you can always take some off. Nice work...
Brinx Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Well done...Love the weathering on there now...I agree, don't take apart to correct (I can never get them back together the right way), Instead...improve (what ever you think you're lacking) on the next one. The way I see it, as we grow, the next model should be (even if only slightly) better than the last.
kilrathy10 Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Excellent work and great weathering......Nice color combo, too....
The Modeling Hermit Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 That is one tough old DiamondREO.

The Modeling Hermit Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Jake, here in Kodiak we need one that say "RUST looks good on me", or maybe it should be the other way around.
