There have been sirens all around all morning as the first-responders rescue the inevitable physics-doesn't-apply-to-me yups from their overturned 4WD Lexi.

Roger that. You can't fix stupid.

What pleased me today was picking up a friend and heading out to our monthly model car club meeting. A great time as our club projects (gassers) were due today and filled the display table, we had great food & snacks, and the camaraderie is always good also. One of the guys even brought a "test shot" of the upcoming '65 Satellite kit for us to check out. Nice, real nice!

I went to The Big Sit today, an annual gathering of area modelers sponsored by the Philadelphia modeling club. The event is nothing more than a bunch of guys hanging out and displaying models. No structure, no prizes, nothing to buy. It was fun to see what everyone had built over the winter and to have some lunch with friends afterwards!

Not today but yesterday I woke up to about 3 inches of snow (I hate that) but we still tracked of to the three rivers show about 90 miles and we had a great time visiting everyone and buying model stuff then off to long john silvers for dinner good day.

I pulled out in front of a cop, and stomped on it (I didn't see him),... he rode my bumper for about a quarter mile, then turned off; that pleased me.

Worked all weekend cleaning up the yard. Just had a 60 Foot Ficus tree trimmed and it was a complete mess. The yard looks great and my dog can't find any more stumps or branches to chew on, but he managed to find and eat a grasshopper today.

I was offered a new job today! Which was great, as I've been unemployed since the end of November. I enjoy the daddy-daughter time with my toddler, but a job pays the bills! B)

I'm pleased that I got home from the hospital today. I went to the local ER last week for pain after refinishing the shop floor. They gave me some strong pain killers & antiinflammatory meds that messed up my stomach. A few days later I discover I'm bleeding internally and had Marcia take me up to the VA ER. They did an upper GI and found the bleeding had stopped but wanted to get my blood pressure back up to my normal 120. That took a couple extra days.

Good luck on the new job. I know what unemployment feels like all too well!

Me too, been out of work for quite a while now. For all practical purposes, I'm retired, I guess.

I just fried the last five eggs in the refrigerator before my roommate (with the appetite of a great white shark), got to them, and that pleases me.

Thanks for the kind words, all! I've bounced around from three companies since graduating university almost five years ago. In that 57 month period, I've barely worked 44 of them. This new job is sorta outside what I've been doing before now, so I'm excited to take my professional career in a new direction!

I saved $500 on our taxes and in the process realized I've been inadvertantly screwing ourselves by filing the wrong form.
