JTalmage Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 (edited) Been working on this thing off and on forever. I dont have a permanent place to build so anything takes me a long time nowadays. I fogged the whole car with a flat clear to make a dusty look on the windows. It's not a perfect model, forgot to build a roll bar for it. But I'm happy with it. with flash Edited January 15, 2015 by JTalmage
JTalmage Posted August 5, 2014 Author Posted August 5, 2014 (edited) without flash Yeah, I know, the engine is crooked. Let me know what you think! Enjoy! Edited January 15, 2015 by JTalmage
TooOld Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Now that's a basket case , but the front wheels and tires seem to have survived okay ! Looks like you spent a lot of time on this and it turned out great ! Nice work .
Maxicoop Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 awesome job of weathering..... tires look just a little to shiny or you should have a flat on it ...... just an idea !! I'm going to have to try some weathering as soon as I figure out how to do it ...I love the idea of a lost barn find and YES I could see this coming out of an old old barn !!!!!!! fantastic build !!!!!!!!

I actually misted some flat clear on the tires but it didnt change their look. I was quite confused! Wow, that rust looks real! Great work! It is REAL rust
Greg Myers Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 and WOW! Caught me on the first picture. Love the rust.
1 bad55 stan Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I followed this build on an off,It has turned out great!Weathering takes alot more work than a shinny paint job.You have nailed it my friend!
MikeBoyle Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Looks like you got a busted motor mount... I was going to say the same thing! Weathering looks perfect!
W-409 Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Nice work with the '55! The weathering looks very realistic to me, and I think this could be pulled out from a barn any moment. Really nice work creating an old and forgotten Drag Car. Only little complaint is that if you want this to be a Gasser, you should add a push bar to the rear end. If I remember correctly, either a rear bumber or a push bar was required. But otherwise really nice looking Chevy!
DeeCee Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 That is SO very well done mate, incredible work on the weathered effect.
JTalmage Posted August 6, 2014 Author Posted August 6, 2014 Thanks everyone. I am getting a new phone today. So maybe new/better pictures.....

TFchronos Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Awesome job on it, the weathering is top notch.
David G. Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Great looking rust work! Photos are really good too. Is that a gear selector on the steering column with a shifter on the floor? David G.

David G. Yep! Never seen a car that was converted to a stick shift on the floor, but they left the column in? I have. Gotta do what you gotta do to go racing! lol
