I remember building a car trailer maybe 40 years ago, maybe more. It had two dropped axles, fenders and a front bulkhead. It might have has a tire rack up front too. I can't remember whether it came with a pickup or a car. Anyone remember this? Or rather, anyone remember hearing their dad mention this kit? :)

Pat....Years ago AMT had a few race team set kits that included the trailer...yes it did have a tire rack or could be built without it. These had them in the sets from what I can remember...

Mod Ford race team set-70s Ford pickup, early Ford modified stock car and trailer

Penske race team set-70s Chevy Van,AMC Matador nascar and trailer

Diamond in the rough-53 Ford pickup,40? Ford coupe and trailer

I know there were some from the 60s era that had the trailers as well but cant remember them?

The trailer that had the tire rack was also a blue printer special order in the 90's also. I think they called it a service trailer .

This is the same trailer that came with the 53 Ford truck and the modified racer.

The Revell trailer is pretty nice, but it is 1/24 scale and it is huge. I tried using it behind a 1/25 scale truck and it was clearly oversize. I ended up pairing it with the Monogram Ford Dually and it was okay there, but I had to put a 1/24 car on it. If I decide to build another, I will narrow it just a bit, and use some plastruct treadplate to detail it a bit more. Otherwise, it is a fun build and it is worth the price.

there was a "diamond in the rough" last week on ebay that went for mid 30s if I recall correctly. and you see the blueprinter editions from time to time. so, not incredibly rare or anything, plus it was released in a half dozen kits at least. you can also find them singly and built up on ebay as well as in their original kits.

This AMT trailer originally came with the '60 Ford and Chevy pickup trucks until '61? The bulkhead is an added piece. Was a ERTL Blueprinter kit too later on.

1/24 scale is only 4% larger than 1/25 scale. Any trailer for a car will necessarily be wide, of course, especially if the wheels are completely outboard of the trailer frame/ramps.

Revell has a similar one that should readily be available, if that fits your need.
