Maindrian Pace Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 Roger, it's going to be metallic blue and silver. Always my favorite combo on these.
LouO Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Exhaust looks perfect! Metallic blue and silver is an excellent choice...con't wait to see it!
Maindrian Pace Posted January 9, 2015 Author Posted January 9, 2015 Nothing new, had to take time off for the holidays, family stuff, and working on my current 1:1 project; as the winter is AZ outdoor activity time. I get more indoor stuff done during the summer. I'll be back to finish this one up soon. I always finish a project thread. -MJS
hjracing Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 We want to see more! We want to see more....!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maindrian Pace Posted February 13, 2015 Author Posted February 13, 2015 And you shall! I took some time off the truck to do the promised Fox hatch conversion, as soon as that is done, I'll finish this one up. -MJS
my80malibu Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I can't complain. I communicated with Greg about getting a body asap.
hjracing Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 More! Please, more!!!!!!! I know you been in others equally great projects but please keep this one coming!
Maindrian Pace Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 (edited) OK, where were we? I had two windshields, both glue burned and one cracked. I smoothed the best one, and vacuformed a replacement: I took the least glue-bombed interior, sanded some damage smooth, and used it along with Monogram Fox Mustang Recaros from the parts box, and a rally console with thermos bottles from an AMT '64 Falcon. Painted it all up this afternoon with Testors spray bombs. The colors are Some Kind Of Blue and Some Kind Of Pewter. I didn't want to use the same colors as the exterior. The dash was masked and the faces shot with Tamiya semigloss black. Looking for a decal sheet from the new issue kit for the gauge faces. Further detailing will be basic, but it will have navy blue flocking and a CB radio. -MJS Edited May 4, 2015 by Maindrian Pace
afx Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Just stumbled upon this thread. Very nice work so far Mike.
skipp20 Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 do u have any extra grills for that pick up? i am looking for any from 73 - 77? let me know either way,
Maindrian Pace Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 '73-'74 and '75-'77 are different. I don't have any others, but Kris Morgan of M.A.D. Resin offers both styles, very cleanly cast. I've seen them, recommended.-MJS
gatorincebu Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Really nice work on the chassis and interior! Be Well Gator
Maindrian Pace Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 Interior came together pretty well. I like how the center A/C vents on this dash are pointed at the driver and passenger. Admittedly, I've been laying low on this project because I'm not crazy about masking for two tone paint jobs. Or really paint jobs in particular. The spoon test looked promising: So the silver was applied first. Next: Blue.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 This one is going to look awesome. I hate masking two tone jobs too!
Atmobil Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Spectacualr project!! I love it. I will have to keep your tutorial on the moving of the rearwheelwells for my own future projects. I think this truck is going to look fantastic when done
Ron Hamilton Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 MIke,I am very impressed with what you are doing with this one. You have raised the bar again.
Maindrian Pace Posted October 11, 2015 Author Posted October 11, 2015 Thanks very much, Gentlemen. Feeling the blues! Lotsa blue on this Ferd, but it'll be broken up with lots of chrome. Chrome makes everything better! -MJS
mikemodeler Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 that is looking great, love the color choices!
mustang1989 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Man that color looks deep Mike! Great choice!!!
