Tom Geiger Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Hello Hooray, I think- from Billion Dollar Babies. He opened the show with in in June '73. Correcto John! Bit o' trivia... back in the days when we put annoying sounds bits on websites, when you clicked on the first NNL East website (hosted on AOL) you'd hear "Hello! Hurray! Let the show begin! I've been ready!"

tubbs Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 You put your right hand in,You put your right hand out,You put your right hand in,And you shake it all about, wow! over 1500 posts and we final got to the silly stuff. I am darn proud of you guys.
tubbs Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Umm, I thought that would be cheating. I guess were not playing by the same set of rules. What's to keep everyone from just googling the lyrics?honesty and the spirit of competition.
tubbs Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Nobody got it?It's "California Uber Alles" by the Dead Kennedys.the only think I could think of was knocking at your back door by deep purple. couldn't get past that.
tubbs Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 I believe you're right--and I saw him do it live, too! (I think ZZ Top was the opening act, if you can believe it.)I remember that tour. that's probably when Z Z top used live animals on stage. the animal people stopped it because the noise level was detriment to the animals.
tubbs Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 In '74, I saw Spooky Tooth, followed by ZZ Top, followed by the Edgar Winter Group (with Rick Derringer). Don't remember the first; ZZ Top was three guys, two with beards, that were a bit monotonous and Edgar and his band put on a good show ("Frankenstein" and "Free Ride"). Cobo Hall in beautiful Detroit, MI.ironically, the one who cant grow a beart in Z Z Top is the drummer, Frank Beard!!
tubbs Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 I saw Edgar Winter in '74 (I think) with Rick Derringer, and I believe Johnny did a brief cameo too. I think the opening act was Brownsville Station. They were much better than their one-hit-wonder status might indicate. I bought two of their albums--good stuff!one-hit-wonder?marton boogie, Mr Robert, country flavor... c,mon!!!
Scale-Master Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 ironically, the one who cant grow a beart in Z Z Top is the drummer, Frank Beard!!And he is a model car guy as well.

Tom Geiger Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 so, is THAT WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT??! hehehehe. I didn't even know there was an original artist. that song has been around since the dinosaurs!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hokey_cokey It's actually a pretty interesting story, the various theories about the origin... The best one is Al Tabor, a British band leader wrote it during WWII. Maybe the first recording was by the US group, the Ram Trio in the early 1950s. There are bits and pieces of it that go back to the 1800s according to the wiki article.
Tom Geiger Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 “They say that these are not the best of times But they're the only times I've ever known" Styx?
