filthyish Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I dont know exactly where this is going.... I just wanted to scratch build a chassis and possibly a body for it. One thing is for sure it will be chev powered. Feel free to post comments and pics, I need ideas.
PatW Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Well Alex, the chassis is looking very good, so keep up the good work. The body will be the really interesting bit. I've tried making bodies but getting the two sides to match and getting everything square is the deal breaker.
grayghost Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I love builds like these. And looks like your off to a great start.
Jaguar man 21 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Fine work I'll be watching your progress

The Moparian Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 That's awesome. I'm actually doing the same thing but I designed mine on the computer. The chassis looks great
blunc Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 you can make it wankel powered, I won't mind.
filthyish Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 So its twin turbo sbc...... what body?
10thumbs Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I like seeing stuff like this. I'd like to keep an eye on this one. Michael
Pim Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 What about a London taxi like mine for something different
charliechaindrive Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Coool,,I like the twin turbo small block!
filthyish Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Front steering mounted, rear diff and four link mounted, engine mount fitted. Next will be smoothing out and painting. Thanks for all the comments guys
mnwildpunk Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Frame looks good. You said feel free to comment. I see the exhaust pipes going to the turbos but I don't see the exhaust pipes leaving the turbos I don't know if your just not finished with that part yet or I can't see the dumps in the pic? Anyway good job so far keep up the good work
kpnuts Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 That is looking awesome will be watching this.
Jantrix Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I think you need to use a different set of headers. For one that looks like a small block, and the spacing on the headers says big block. Two, the exhaust that goes outboard of the frame and then back in for the turbos serves no purpose. Perhaps a Corvette style header that drops straight down, would work out better. I have a set if you need. As for what body, usually chassis are built after you have a body picked out. However, due to the length of this, I'd go with something longish, like the Revell '39 Chevy Wagonrod, sans fenders.
