Speedfreak Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Nice job Brian, great subject. Love these kinds of race cars.
Brianl Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 Thanks for the great feedback Glad you like it Mark, I'm embarased to say that there was not much to these mods I started with the AMT '66 Mustang which had a good body but very basic floor pan that had moulded in exhausts etc & no inner guards which I wanted to back up the engine. I had the AMT Mercury Cougar Street Machine in my stash & it had the chassis & inner body work I needed. All I had to do was shorten it about 3mm & section the firewall/guard piece & it all fitted very well. Guards were fairly easy being flat sheet rolled around a paint can of convenient diameter. Just needed some triming & surprising little filler. All together I really enjoyed this build
PowerPlant Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 (edited) Works for me 100%! I have something similar in mind for my 66 coupe Edited September 12, 2014 by PowerPlant
exesivefire Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 This is awesome! Did you say where the wheels and tires came from?
Brianl Posted September 13, 2014 Author Posted September 13, 2014 Andy Wheels & tyres are from the Tamiya Nissan R89C kit which is 1/24 of course, so the look realy good on a 1/25 body Parts of that kit will end up in at least three models I think. Brian
om617 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Looks awsome. Not sure if you are fimiliar with the british series called Thunder Saloon, this would fit right in.
