it's an vehicle with many interesting facets but unlike the disorganised plug wires, I find the routing of the carb fuel lines more disturbing... not something that I personally would route over the top of the distributor cap.

At least not made from surgical tubing

To the essence of the thread- whatever YOU like- whatever anyone of us likes- is cool. Beauty is all in the eye of the beholder.

BUT-

Rat rod, yeah; ragged, yeah; put together with whatever might be handy and convenient, yeah; but there is something to say about common sense and safety...

The plug wires, fuel lines and linkage creep me out. Come on- this is the stuff that makes the motor run. It wouldn't cost too much nor take too much time to put a little more thought and effort to get that rat's nest to the point where there probably wouldn't be a gas fire, a miss due to a burnt plug wire or a stuck accelerator situation. Those types of incidents can ruin a pleasure cruise in an instant. It's worse when it's compounded by negligence on the part of the builder being the cause of the situation. I have been there. It sux.

Agreed.

I can never understand why guys with a showroom-stock new Vette or Mustang GT, etc. etc., have to bring it to cruise night. Don't have to get dirty by building their ride, just write a check....

Or make the lease payments. As in yes, I know what a 3 year old Mustang looks like. I saw one on a used car lot, they even let me drive it!

what gets me with these rat rod contraptions is they build it like that on purpose!! everything in this car was planned out. was not put together in a garage, using what was available at the time. to me that makes no sense.

I usually keep my opinions to myself but thought I'd chime-in here. I think that car looks like BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH. And, the Z-car in the background looks silly. Apart from being butt-ugly, the rat-rod exudes laziness (can't wait 'til that fad passes) and the Z-car looks like it was customized by a ten-year-old.

I know this is politically incorrect, but you don't have to like and accept everything. I never liked T-buckets and I wish rap music would go away, too.

OK, sorry about the negative rant! I guess I'm just getting tired (old and grouchy?) of all the ugliness and mediocrity that's been foisted on me since the 1970s. After all, there has been a lot of good stuff, too.

Well, back to work. Have a good day everyone!

Interesting thing about the Z is that, apart from the molded-in flares and air-dam, it's more-or less a factory piece for the Japanese home market. I guess you and I know a different selection of ten-year-olds.
