Superpeterbilt Posted October 4, 2014 Author Posted October 4, 2014 The blue and white R-Model wrecker belongs to a friend of mine in Jersey, drove the truck 35 years before he retired it,he now has an AT-64 Autocar with a Century under-reach. I am looking to use the first gear wrecker body (probably) just hate to break up such nice trucks! I've had this project on my mind for a good many years, the RL-700L/sleeper will be a lot easier than the wrecker for sure! I just hope Round2 will re-issue the R-Model at some point in the future, the kits around now are just too expensive to stock up on..................................Mark Well, as you may have seen earlier in this thread, I have bashed a few first gear wreckers for the bodies. I have 7 to be exact. I stripped the paint, ground off the screw tabs, and glued it together. Here are two that I rebuilt years ago. One I threw a 5th wheel and a winch on it, and the other a flatbed(ford C600 kit) and a load of lumber.I have another that is stripped and in primer(dont know where Im going with it yet) and another cut down to a single axle.
Superpeterbilt Posted October 4, 2014 Author Posted October 4, 2014 If your adventurous there is the Phil Jensen Holmes how to Dude! Did you build that?!! Details !! Way too cool
kilrathy10 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 (edited) I agree....When I saw it, I said "That is flippin' SWEET".... Great job on that one, Greg.....I still have to build that Simba kit you traded me....At least I think that was you.... Edited October 4, 2014 by kilrathy10
GLMFAA1 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Don't want to derail the thread, I did build the ALF/Holmes wrecker using Phil's 'how to' way back when. I can't recall the Simba trade. You start out using the AMT wrecker body and build from there. I'm also crying at the first gear conversions, They should have made a DIY kit They are nice and nothing like a B Mack, but the wrecker is so nice, I would get an 'infarc' grinding into the rivets I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming greg
Superpeterbilt Posted October 4, 2014 Author Posted October 4, 2014 I would get an 'infarc' grinding into the rivets greg Thats the beauty, they screw together. You can strip the whole thing down in 2min. Once you pull the body off its all gravy.
Superpeterbilt Posted October 4, 2014 Author Posted October 4, 2014 (edited) I'm also crying at the first gear conversions Tears of happiness, or sadness? Edited October 4, 2014 by Superpeterbilt
Petetrucker07 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 A big THANKS goes to Terry for this recent "kit". I just recieved the score today , the parts to build the "Over the Top" autocar.

kilrathy10 Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Hmmm.....Man....If it wasn't you, Greg, then who did I get that thing from?? That's what happens when you start getting old......I can't remember for the life of me....
Pavel A. Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 So, here´s my last kits.... I bought this pack of 4 just only for 130 Euros (USD 170), including post. For this kits there is excellent price.
Superpeterbilt Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 Thats a great score and a great price Pavel. Do you have them planned out yet, or are they going in the stash?
Pavel A. Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 (edited) Just a stash or I can say " to wardrobe". Over there I've got about 60 kits plus lot of PE parts... but these kit are for me I planned to build it up, but don't when. I' ve got no free time, now, unfortunately... kilrathy10 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Yeah, that is a pretty good score, Pavel.....I'm still kicking myself for not purchasing more than 2 of the KW Aerodyne reissues.....They're going for quite a bit, these days, you know.....Even though it's got the Tyrone Malone stretch.....
Petetrucker07 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 The KW aerodyne doesnt need the "treatment", i agree JT. There aint nuttin cooler than a stretched out cabover.
Petetrucker07 Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Just scored a snap KW w900 from the lobby with the coupon and a beaded van trailer from my LHS.

My father in law drives a 2014 Kenworth T800 with that box and trailer. I have the T800 conversion and the T600 kit, as well as the drive axle, and the main box. Now all i need is the trailer.....and the cummins.
