realgone58 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 This was our club build this year, (Florida Auto and Scale Trucks), so we each built one any way we wanted. I pretty much box stocked it, except I used the dual blown Chrysler Hemi out of the recently re-issued '53 Studebaker kit. The white walls are from Vinyl Nation, and the distributor is from Fatkidd Hobby Products. The body is turquoise over red oxide primer, and was "worn out" using the salt method. I de-chromed and weathered the bug catchers and blowers.
southpier Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 (edited) I think they're from the amt '53 Studebaker (double blower may be too) Edited November 2, 2014 by southpier
gonzo64nova Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 So cool !!!! the headers look great and fit the theme so well, also the weathering is right on!
realgone58 Posted November 2, 2014 Author Posted November 2, 2014 Thanks guys. Yes, the crazy headers were in the '53 Stude kit as well.
landman Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Neat lloking slingshot. Brobably a wicked driver too. Please describe the "Salt method".
realgone58 Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 Salt method is simple, there are several variations on the technique as well. Just go to youtube and watch one of our own Dr.Cranky how to's.
