tbill Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 thanks guys this weekends plan is to finish off the other two interiors, and start some chassis building [painted most of the last bits for that tonight]. Carl, yes, those are PE speaker grills that I painted flat black.
tbill Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 well, managed to get the tires mounted and balanced still chipping away at bits and pieces, but it won't be long and I will be out of parts.......
mustang1989 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Looks great Tom! That's a fair amount of work with 24 wheel/ tire assys!!! You're a better man than me.................. lol
Mopar - D Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Your getting closer keep up the great work Tom
Speedfreak Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) Tom, did you use MM 'Leather' on your steering wheels, or , just 'brown? And did you spray or brush paint them? The interiors look great. So do the wheels. Edited January 22, 2015 by Speedfreak
tbill Posted January 22, 2015 Author Posted January 22, 2015 thanks all, your replies are keeping me going on this insane project Gene, yes MM leather, brush painted over white sprayed on primer. todays update, all 6 chassis are now rollers with engines installed. I decided to add brake lines off the master cylinders, so did that little exercise 6 times, after that, I thought I would mock up a couple of the cars to get a feel for how things were looking,
tbill Posted January 22, 2015 Author Posted January 22, 2015 so far, I like how it's going, but I see some assembly issues that are gonna be tough to deal with, all the added stuff kind of gets in the way of things, so not sure how it's all gonna go once all the stuff is glued to the chassis and I try to stuff them all together......thanks for looking, and stay tuned................
slusher Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Nice progress Tom, going to have beautiful models.
Speedfreak Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Great job Tom, hope everything fits. That red car is just beautious!
mustang1989 Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Man those are awesome!! Nice brake lines BTW.....x 6??!!!!
Mopar - D Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Tom they all are looking good and getting closer. I guess that once you get one assembled at least you will have the bugs sorted out for the remaining 5. This is a very awesome project and part 2 will deffently put this way over the top!!
Randy D Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Hi Tom, Really fun watching your factory assembly line in action !!! The engine compartments are looking great. Randy
tubbs Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 nice job on all of them. Baldwin/motion would be proud!! getting ideas when I do my ZL/1-COPO/Yenko triple threat, yea, only half od what you have got going on. anyways, went back to see what color green you used and could not find it, can you fill me in on what you used, thanks.
tbill Posted January 24, 2015 Author Posted January 24, 2015 thanks everyone, it's been a bit of a challenge, but I am getting closer, your comments are much appreciated and keep me chipping away on this project. I hope to get a lot done this weekend, plan on spending some quality time at the bench. I have a few things to try to make headliners for the cars, still need to finish off the last two interiors, and have to BMF all of the bodies. once those tasks are complete, things should really start happening as far as completing some cars. Al, I think I had posted the color before, but I think it got 'lost' during that week the site had some issues. it is actually a GM color called 'Green O'Clock' [atleast that's what it says on the can], it is used on 1:1 Camaros from a few years ago [2010 maybe?], I saw it on a new spark at work, on that car I think it's called dragon green or the like. it comes as a two can kit, base coat green, and a green tint top coat. after looking at it some, it's pretty close to testors lime ice [i think that's what it's called], although I think it may be a bit darker. if you like, I can dig up the GM part number for it if you wanted to order some. thanks again for following along, stay tuned for new pic's over the weekend........
Madd Trucker Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 (edited) looks great tom hope you get the hauler done also Edited January 24, 2015 by Madd Trucker
1hobby1 Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Amazing build. Can't wait to see them all done. I'm actually working on a 69 camaro now and had a question on how you went about the door panel trim detail. The 'chrome' trim looks great the way you did it. Thanks!
tbill Posted January 24, 2015 Author Posted January 24, 2015 thanks everyone for keeping me going on this! your input keeps me dialed in to finish this. Steve, the door panel trim is done in BMF, wasn't easy in a few spots, but worth the effort. give it a shot, you'll like the results. as of today, I have most of the last two interiors done, need to finish off the dash boards and paint the steering wheels, should have that stuff done tomorrow. no pic's yet, but started BMF'ing one of the bodies, hopefully tomorrow I can get in the BMF zone and get a few bodies done. as usual, thanks for following along, and look for some new pic's tomorrow night.........
DumpyDan Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 So Tom, do you find your repeating your self. This is great, I have 8 Yenko Camaro's would love to tackle some thing this big. Keep the pic's coming
