10thumbs Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Excellent detailing and the paint looks fabulous. The cars look real.
tbill Posted February 21, 2015 Author Posted February 21, 2015 thanks guys got car number three 1/2 foiled and the rest of the bits/parts painted tonight. plan for tomorrow is to complete the foil, glue in the glass and put interior and chassis together with body, sunday will be PE bits, side pipes and finger print removal if all goes to plan, 3 will be done sunday thanks for following along, been quite a journey so far.........[still have titan and hauler to do, and thinking of adding a garage dio to the mix.....]
tbill Posted February 21, 2015 Author Posted February 21, 2015 todays work, should be able to wrap this one up tomorrow
mustang1989 Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Man I have to say Tom that red car came out every bit as good as the first car did. I hated that about the hood to body fit but the build came out spectacular nonetheless. This blue one looks great as well and I think this one is my fave so far just because of the color.
tbill Posted February 22, 2015 Author Posted February 22, 2015 thanks guys. it looks like the hood fit is going to be an across the board issue later on I will see what I can do, but for now, I will march on. number 3 is called done this morning half way home..... thanks for following along.......
tbill Posted February 22, 2015 Author Posted February 22, 2015 as a side note, all my pic's so far have been taken with my cell phone, my daughter got a new digital camera, so before this is all done, I will have her take some good photo's and post them.
Mopar - D Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Tom great looking #3 and your on the your way to having them all done.
mikemodeler Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 I struggle to get one of the Revell snap together 69 Camaros together in a month, and here you have been working hard on 6 glue together, well detailed kits done in a couple of months! Outstanding work, well detailed, and great execution. I am envious of your dedication.
tbill Posted February 22, 2015 Author Posted February 22, 2015 Carl, James, Mike and Dan, thanks guys, been a long road so far, but it's getting there. Mike, I started this little project back in November, it usually takes me a month per build, I hope it doesn't take me another 2 months to complete the last three still have to do the rig and hauler....... car #3 went together pretty fast, so if I get some bench time during the week on the other ones, in a couple weeks it'll be time to build the rig
Pizzwizz24 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Looking really cool all lined up together.
tbill Posted February 24, 2015 Author Posted February 24, 2015 (edited) small update, tonight I painted up all the last bits and parts, just need to clear coat them tomorrow after that is done, it'll be down to foiling 3 bodies, painting a couple headliners, jamming all the bits together, then adding the PE, as if it was that quick, lol. stay tuned, the end is near........then it's titan and auto hauler time thanks for all the positive comments so far, been a major source of motivation to keep plugging along on this project, I truly appreciate it. p.s. I also threw out the 6 boxes of these kits that I have been staring at on the bench for 4 months now, table feels bigger Edited February 24, 2015 by tbill
tbill Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 well, car number orange is foiled got bowling tomorrow night, and stuff going on Friday night, and the weekend is filled with work saturday and a model show sunday, so next Monday will most likely be the next bench time, but this one only needs a few hours more stay tuned.......
mustang1989 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Number orange is lookin' peachy........I mean awesome!! Keep the pics coming Tom!! I'm on board with the lack of benchtime this weekend as it's me and my wife's 19th anniversary. It's gonna be the second time I've missed the bench this year but am looking forward to spending some time with my wife away from the house.
tbill Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 happy anniversary! gotta keep momma happy. wife and I had our 23rd this past November, and if I have learned anything in that time, it is this, 'if momma ain't happy, ain't no body happy' [words to live by, if ya ask me. lol] hope to have more in progress pic's Monday night, and by the looks of things, need to change my pic taking......
tbill Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 number orange is almost done plans changed for tonight, so I got some bench time in when I got home might be able to wrap this one up tomorrow after work with a little luck.....
