Headphones are a great way to experience high end sound even from your computer without busting your budget.  Sennheiser are among my favorite.

True, but I like to feel it through the floor. If I turn my headphones up that loud, my head melts.  :D

True you don't get the visceral impact of the music through headphones but my the detail you can hear!

Well, it's not obscure or recently discovered, but the new Rammstein album was released today. :)

I know what I'll be listening to all weekend.

LYD - self titled album (1970)
Dirty, fuzzy, typical 60/70s psychedelic rock.
Track 3 is a great representation of the album, "Stay high (fly away is still OK)", do I have to say more? :P

Fuchsia, 1971.

Fuchsia recorded one album and then split up.  The band's leader, Tony Durant, then became aware of the album's resurgence in the internet era.  The original album has now been reissued and new material recorded.

Scroll down the linked page for band history and a documentary film:

TOOL is on Napster now....... something I thought I would never see. They have a new single out called "Fear Inoculum" from an upcoming album by the same name........

It sounds pretty good....

It's only been, what, 13 years? Pretty excited! Slipknot's new album just came out as well! It's a good year for metal!

Malicorne, from France, whose music spanned the Medieval and modern eras. Enjoy this one with earphones.

This track is from their album which translates to The Bestiary.

Track:  "La Mule" from Le Bestiaire by Malicorne (1979).

Anyone into Progressive Rock? I just started listening to an album called "Voyage of the Acolyte" by Steve Hackett.... I guess he was in Genesis? The first song on the album is the best one, it's called Ace of Wands.........

Yes Hackett was in Genesis up through the mid/late 70s.  That's him on guitar.  Note also that is Bill Bruford (of Yes fame) on the 2nd drum kit. He played/toured with Genesis for a short period
