bobthehobbyguy Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Nicely done. Would you give some details on it please?
vintagedragcrazy Posted December 11, 2014 Author Posted December 11, 2014 hey bob it's a tobias chassis from an amt modified kit, the tires and body are big donkey, parts box hemi with comp. resins intake and homemade injector tubes, i think headers are also big donkey, paint is plum crazy purple with slixx decals. i found a couple more pics so i added them here. vince
Mackvision Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Vince, thats a GREAT build! I'm originally from South Jersey, and saw many modifieds just like this run at several local dirt tracks,i am curious about the body,is it resin? or did you do the mods?..................................Mark
vintagedragcrazy Posted December 12, 2014 Author Posted December 12, 2014 It's a big donkey resin also do you know Denny Richardson from Johnstown, pa he goes by Dutchman on several other boards he's the one who talked me through this thing he builds some beautiful dirt mods and we were a nnl east and we're talking with big donkey and we started grabbing parts and this thing was born. Truck parts Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Great build, Love the paint job !!!!!!!!!!!!!
W-409 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Great job building one of these Dirt Racers! These do not quite fit into my interests, so I'm not an expert on these. It might be a stupid question, but I don't know the answer, so why is that one front tire different from the others? Great work building this one, good looking paint job and I like the paint colors on the engine. Especially those injector stacks look realistic. Good work.
vintagedragcrazy Posted December 17, 2014 Author Posted December 17, 2014 well niko i'm like you i don't have much interest in them either a friend of mine builds them and for a change i thought i'd do one too and i gathered up some resin pieces and really liked the cuda body and he talked me through it. as for the tires i know it's got a lot to do with the turns that's why there's a small one on one side and a larger one on the other. as for the paint it's a mopar so plum crazy was the color of choice and for grins i put petty numbers on it. the injector stacks were made by me and intake is comp. resins. vince
Earl Marischal Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 A fine piece of work but one question. On the prototype, how does the driver see where he's going with all that stuff in front of him? steve
vintagedragcrazy Posted December 17, 2014 Author Posted December 17, 2014 i don't know maybe you only have to look to the left or right hope like heck there's no one in front of you. vince
Florent Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Very nice build! I am an old school short track scale modeler. I really like this one!
