Pat Minarick Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I reckon if you sat in that and floored the throttle it'd do a back flip... Very very good work.I think it would be more like a sit-n-spin.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Abandoning the Willys. Too much to engineer, purchase, fabricate...Toying with more details on the Scout. Snowplow from the Revell GMC kit, more junk, repainting the hood, little details here and there.
zenrat Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I dobbed a bit of filler on and apart from sanding it the interior panelling is finished. So I took a really crappy phone picture. I found some seats that fit, have a centre console for instruments and so just have to scratch up pedals and something to hold the steering wheel in the right place. Then I can paint the tub.
Lunajammer Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Yeah, that engine really sits back there. Excellent ambitious work so far. Is that an exhaust dump under the door?
Petetrucker07 Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 I'm not giving up hope that I'll have a sudden burst of motivation. Guess my Nomad was pretty adventurous for skills. I'm hoping, but it's not lookin very good.
zenrat Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Yeah, that engine really sits back there. Excellent ambitious work so far. Is that an exhaust dump under the door?Yep. I'll be putting mesh panels on the bottoms of the door which will be hiding the ends of the extractors. Not only is the engine set right back but its also sitting very low in the chassis meaning room for some subtlety on the induction front - like dual quads on a tunnel ram...
Jantrix Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 28 days to go. 4 weeks people. Only five racers in the completed builds thread. You're not going to make it that easy for us are you?
JTalmage Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 I might just have to sit my '67 Camaro aside, and drop 1 out of 2 of my cars out of the running and just finish 1 of them... ugh. I can't *make* myself build it seems... only when inspiration hits. I'll see if I can pull it together.
bill_67 Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 I haven't given up either, I'm still working on my blazer. I'll post progress pictures tonight.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 I'm waiting for snowfall for a good picture... I think I'll add some pictures to the thread tonight sans snow and then another later.
TFchronos Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 I'm planning on finishing too, plenty of time. :D.Got just a little more body work to do before paint. Slapped some paint on the engine early this morning and I'll start working on the frame and suspension tonight.
Belugawrx Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Nice work going there Fred Got a bit more done... Got the BMF'n trim work started... Need to get the Rad mounted,...but the grille fits... MeatMan Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 28 days to go. 4 weeks people. Only five racers in the completed builds thread. You're not going to make it that easy for us are you?I was trying to age the paint but went a little too far and have to do some creative repair work, but I'll be there at the finish!
knarf Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 ok fellas, here's where i'm at. finally found some appropriate-ish wheels(a little blingy but we'll see) and have finally found a source for the decals i want to use. still not sure if i'll be done in time but we shall see enjoy

wagonmaster Posted November 7, 2015 Author Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) Wow, So much has been completed since I was last on here. My wagon hasn't been touched in months. I heard the Ohio State Patrol is waiting for some guy name JJ McClure. So They are out. TOO. The weather has been to nice and has kept me out of the house. Tim Edited November 7, 2015 by wagonmaster
Belugawrx Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Matthew, (AAAAAAAGGGGHGGHGHGHGH)..I feel ur pain,.....
Jantrix Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Matthew. With the deadline looming, I would hit that paint with some 91% isopropyl alcohol and the a series of black/rust washes and go for the beater look. You can always take it back apart and repaint later. Try some Duplicolor though. Rustoleum is garbage IMHO.
Antikainen Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 I am still in allthough the life has got very effectively on the way. Now it's the time to continue building the CMC Motorhome. The long brake has served well the building process: I have now a clear vision of the finished model. Just wait and see...
