Belugawrx Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Interesting .. that's a nasty looking bit .. never seen one like that before. Yep it will tear stuff UP! IIRC it came in an offshore set from Canadian tire along with the ball reamer, and the spiral cylinder bit,..

JTalmage Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 If I wasnt on such a roll w/ my Rockford Files Firebird I'd work on my two cars....
Belugawrx Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Wow! Great progres! I like your turbos... Thanks Jose They were one of those things you think you can make , and halfway thru you look down at the tiny pieces in your hands and say ... "WTH am I doing"!.....Those are 6 pieces of plastic and solder, scraped, thinned, warmed, rolled, reamed, glued,drilled,sanded,.... Now for the fun bit of running all the lines
Tom Geiger Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 They were one of those things you think you can make , and halfway thru you look down at the tiny pieces in your hands and say ... "WTH am I doing"!.....Those are 6 pieces of plastic and solder, scraped, thinned, warmed, rolled, reamed, glued,drilled,sanded,.... Yea, like $50 worth of labor there! I think the same thing when I spend an evening making some tiny little part.
ProStreetOnTheStrip Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Sign me up with a 1969 camaro, dont worry, it`ll be beat up alright Also can we alter interior apperance? Like fuel cells and cages?
Belugawrx Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Yea, like $50 worth of labor there! I think the same thing when I spend an evening making some tiny little part. Tons-O-Fun tho ,..right Tom?
Tom Geiger Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Tons-O-Fun tho ,..right Tom? an evening well spent creating something. Calming and relaxing, like meditation.
Foxer Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Ferrari 250 GTO The plastic hinges have been replaced with "standard" brass ones. I really like how well the hood fits on this. I decided to try some ferrules to replace the thick kit intake pipes after some suggestions on a thread here. I was able to order some in the exact size of the largest and smallest diameters of the kit ones but they will have to be shortened. I'm debating how I will do this as they are very thin, but they look more realistic than the kit ones. I think I'll have to flatten the bell which seems to have been done on the 1:1 according to photos online.
Pat Minarick Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Great work everyone. I am going to pick up my other Smart tomorrow and get back on it. I think I may be able to use both bodies ,one a sleeper and one that isn't.
ProStreetOnTheStrip Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 First update- The doors are cut open an the engine is a Ferrari Enzo V-10
Jantrix Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Sign me up with a 1969 camaro, dont worry, it`ll be beat up alright Also can we alter interior apperance? Like fuel cells and cages? Of course. The trick is, to make it unnoticeable. First update- KINDLE_CAMERA_1423120654000.jpg The doors are cut open an the engine is a Ferrari Enzo V-10 Per the rules on Page 1, we need to see a pic of the unstarted kit or whatever pile-o-parts you're using.
ProStreetOnTheStrip Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 (edited) Well the engine wouldn't fit so, instead of finding another that would work I made it rear engined! Edited February 14, 2015 by ProStreetOnTheStrip
Jantrix Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Well my trip got postponed for two weeks so I got my build back out. I finished the scratch building for the Pacer rear suspension. Panhard bar. Traction bars And the shock absorber mounts
FatBoyKuztoms Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Came home from work tonight to find that my apartment complex has caught fire, I had just gotten my modeling room set up. Fudge!!!
Petetrucker07 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Sorry to hear that man. That really sucks.
FatBoyKuztoms Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 It does, but what can you do. I'll just have to start over. So as of this point I'm going to remove myself from the community build till I can get things figured out. Heck I have a model car show coming up, maybe I'll pick something up
Belugawrx Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Sorry for your loss. Thank goodness you weren't home at the time!
Guest Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 My project is in stall mode at the moment. I scored a '69 Jeepster buildup and couldn't wait to start on it. Everything's ready for primer. It'll just be painting and detailing when I get back to it.
Jantrix Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Came home from work tonight to find that my apartment complex has caught fire, I had just gotten my modeling room set up. Fudge!!! I'm sorry to hear that. Was it a total loss?
FatBoyKuztoms Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 It was, found out my neighbor fell asleep with a lit cigarette on his couch and it caused the apartment complex to go up in flames.
Lunajammer Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 This is one of those times, Michael, when modeling is a very small matter. I'm sure you lost things more precious. My GF lost everything but family and animals in a house fire so I understand your loss. However, if modeling helps bring some normalcy back, then all the better.
