nitro_force_fan Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Heres one that my dad built im sure over 40 plus years ago. Probably more like 45. Kind of a wild what if model.Looks like it was a take off of Arnie "The Farmer" Beswick. He lives just a few miles up the road from us. The only complete model i have left from when my dad was doing them. Always thought this was super cool for a wild home made car. Thought about tearing it apart and refreshing it but its cooler they way it is. An original screw bottom car. What do you guys think?
Mike 1017 Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Leave the way it is. How can you not love those hand painted stripes?
62rebel Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 x2 on leaving it as-is. that's a piece of his and now your pasts.
Can-Con Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Yes, definitely leave it as is as a memory of your father. You'll be glad you did someday. It's actually pretty close to the drag version of the kit. I only see a different injector/scoop on the engine, everything else beside the paint and decals is how the kit came.
AC Norton Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 think of how exciting that car was when first built....you can never get that feeling from that period back by restoring it...leave it just the way it is, and be proud you still have it....wish I had all of mine from back then.....the ace....
hedotwo Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Another vote to leave as is. Oh how I wish I'd kept my builds from the early/mid 60's to show and eventually pass on to my grandsons
bobthehobbyguy Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Don't touch it. What would be neat would be to get another kit and do your version. Then you would have models built by 2 generations.

High octane Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I've know Arnie for many years and I would leave the model "as is" if it were mine. Of course you could always send it to me as it would look great on MY shelf. LOL!
