They say it's resin cast but with that level of detailing in 1/35 scale I would bet it's really printed,,, Wouldn't a 1/8 version be trick?
landman Posted February 22, 2022 Author Posted February 22, 2022 Forgetfulness likely has its advantages. I found an old TV camera in one of the Parts Pak boxes. No idea how it got there, so that makes it a new acquisition. So I assembled it and tried it out in a mock interview in front of the office. 2
Anglia105E Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 Brilliant Pat ! The small group of standing figures looks very realistic in this shot. What a lucky find that TV camera was. David 1
landman Posted March 1, 2022 Author Posted March 1, 2022 I was going to build the Parts Pak Corvair 145 for display. However, it doesn't have the engine cooling fan shroud so I built it for the diorama. 1
Anglia105E Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 I noticed the ' Diamond T trucks ' badge on the back wall in your two photos, and I remember the garage where I got my first job when I finished school at the age of 17 . . . . They had a Diamond T recovery vehicle and it was an absolute monster ! When the engine was started up for this truck to go out on a breakdown, the two vertical stacks were pumping out smoke and the sound was quite something. The engine was removed from that truck for an overhaul one time, and I had a close look at the internals of the engine. My job was partsman, so I had to source parts for the Diamond T engine. Happy days ! David 1
Anglia105E Posted March 2, 2022 Posted March 2, 2022 I might be wrong about the ' two ' stacks actually . . . . . There would have been only one stack if the engine wasn't a V8 or V12 ? David

Big John Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Is that a set of duel turbos for the Corvair? Great collection of engines Pat I always see something new when i tune in. Thanks!

We are looking at the backside of it.Glad you are liking this.
landman Posted June 6, 2022 Author Posted June 6, 2022 A Cummins V903 has come in for a going over. it has been mounted on the hydraulic, self-levelling dolly. 1
Anglia105E Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 That's a good old rusty Cummins you have there Pat . . . Looks like the engine needs a certain amount of restoration. If so, it's in the right place ! David
landman Posted June 13, 2022 Author Posted June 13, 2022 The Ardun V12 which was on the dyno is going into a project. it was replaced by a custom nailhead with 6 Strombergs. The induction system is 3D printed by Chris Drysdale at Maple Leaf Model Works. 1
landman Posted January 2, 2024 Author Posted January 2, 2024 There is a Shelby show in a nearby city. It was decided to take all three. 1

Dann Tier Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 I've always loved your diorama work. and i'm so glad that your people arent covered with semi-gloss, or evenly washed! 1
Mattilacken Posted March 27, 2024 Posted March 27, 2024 Great stuff as always! Love your garage diorama and al the engines! Saw that there are several 3d model of cumins egnines at Grabcad, might want to check them out, they are in 1:1 so you have to alter them a bit to use them maybe. If you have a couple of Chrysler flat head 6s kicking around you might want to put together a Sherman 30 cyl. WV tank engine. There is even a 1/35 scale model that appears to be printed. That realy got my interest! How great aint that, I just love old solutions to dificult problems. And a cool engine would be some modern six made for alot of hp like 2JZ, Barra or RB26 with turbos and made to work in the same way as that WV 30 cyl!
Coyote_6 Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 Good looking shop, inside and out. It's development has followed so many 1:1 shops - it lends to the authenticity. Fun thread! Steve 1

I retrieved it from what had been my grandfathers farm and restored it.
