jdean Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 that is amazing work !!! the best "real" looking engine I have seen so far, wish I could do that. Ronnie
JTRACING Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 so I finally did some more work on this build painted a metallic blue craft paint. then weathered with artist oils. the chrome trim is cheap HVAC tape from the dollar tree.
gardnerpag44 Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Very cool the weathering is awesome and great work on the motor Nice !!
horsepower Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Great job, only thing missing is a burnt spot on the hood, then you can detail the carb a little, display it with a screw driver and a wrench on the fender with the air cleaner off and sitting on the other fender.
Snake45 Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 So someone painted a Z16 blue, and then let it go to seed. Interesting..... OTOH, I like your rot at the bottom edge of the rear window. Seen that many times on GM A-bodies (and F-bodies, and other makes and models as well).
Skip Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Really love that wire trick on those pulleys that one pays off in a big way. Been around a while and have never seen anyone do that one, thanks a lot for sharing. Sometimes the simplest tricks and tweets look better than some of the expensive do-dads!
bobthehobbyguy Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Missed this thread before. Great tip for the pullies. Great job on the weathering.
06daytona Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Excellent work on the engine! One thing I really liked was the throttle spring - great detail for a stock appearance! Usually this item is too big, too many coils, etc. But yours really looks the part!! Not to mention the rest of the details....really fine work!
