Snake45 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 (edited) Just saw her for the first time last night on SNL. In all three appearances--and the promos for the show that ran all week--she appeared to wearing a monstrously, comically large fake unibrow. It covered half her face or more. Is she a Cyclops? Ironically enough, you couldn't Sia at all with that getup. It was weird. She managed to make Gaga on her weirdest day (meat dress, maybe?) look like the local Sunday School teacher. Petetrucker07 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 She is very opposed to publicity pics. Howard Stern interviewed her a few months back. She doesnt like to photographed by the media. But she will do personal pics, with friends and what not.
Petetrucker07 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 I heard in that interview, she performed and she sounded pretty good. Not my cup of tea music wise, but still she has a nice voice.
1930fordpickup Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 i am baffled that someone still watches SNL.
Danno Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Freak. Just another variation of the freak genre. Always gotta come up with something more bizarre than the last freak.
Lunajammer Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 I saw the SNL performance and found her intriguing. Music wasn't bad. The support performers were pretty weird but if you accept it as performance art and try to appreciate it as a form of artistic expression then I'm okay letting them do weird stuff... I don't feel threatened by the unusual. I had to Wiki her last night though. Family of artists.
Petetrucker07 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 She wrote that song for Rhianna, Diamonds. She does the whole mask her face, stand with back to the audience to keep her face anonymous. She wanted to remain a song writer and not be famous. Then someone in the business heard her voice and convinced her to do her own album.
Snake45 Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 i am baffled that someone still watches SNL. It's usually a waste of electrons these days, but two or three times a season they manage to put together a good show. Last night I actually laughed out loud five or six times, once so hard my sides hurt.
Harry P. Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 I saw that too, and wondered the same thing. Her second song, she faced the side of the stage and not the audience. It all seems way too pretentious to me... another pop singer taking herself waaaaaaaay too seriously and trying to turn pop music into "art." She has a nice voice.... she doesn't need the sideshow act and the goofy dancers and mime.

That's WAY too old for this affected nonsense, especially when she actually seems to be a talented singer AND songwriter.
slusher Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Lady Gaga is just plain weird. Madonna is another nut job that could sing. I really can't get into the strange stuff. She should have wore a mask...
chunkypeanutbutter Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Lady Gaga's new album with Tony Bennett is spot-on.
Tom Geiger Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Lady Gaga's new album with Tony Bennett is spot-on. Tony Bennett from Down East Dickering? Did he bring Spike along too?
slusher Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) Lady Gaga's new album with Tony Bennett is spot-on. Tony Bennett classes it up she is still is a nut job... Edited January 19, 2015 by slusher

Mark Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Controversy and talent have become interchangeable...
Danno Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Some "artists" try to use controversy to substitute for too little talent.
Snake45 Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 Lady Gaga is just plain weird. Weird perhaps, but also VERY talented.
Snake45 Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 Tony Bennett classes it up she is still is a nut job... I don't care for Tony Bennett's music at all. Just not my thing. Haven't bothered to listen to Gaga's work with him. Not interested at all. I still dig her, though. Some "artists" try to use controversy to substitute for too little talent. True, but that's obviously not this Sia woman's problem.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Some "artists" try to use controversy to substitute for too little talent. Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, etc.
Harry P. Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Some "artists" try to use controversy to substitute for too little talent. That's the weird thing. She's actually a very good singer and doesn't need the "controversy" at all.
slusher Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) I don't either. But they're still freaks. Some have very strange behavior and I really don't care for it... Edited January 20, 2015 by slusher
