ferrari87 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Hey guys. I've been in and out on this one. I didn't post as many updates as I'd have liked but it's finished now. I lost a lot of pictures due to that server crash/switch but without further adieu, my garage facade! The lighting isn't the best, but it'll have to do for now.
Ridge Rider Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 That's a nice looking exterior facade.Well done and it will be a nice backdrop for pictures.
Belugawrx Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 I like Clean, simple, just enough detail to make it interesting Love to see it with a model and outdoor lighting Well done Justin Cheers
ferrari87 Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 Thanks you all. It was a blast to build and I can't wait to debut my RX-7 on it (theres a WIP in the workbench section). The brick painting took the longest. I actually had to go back and repaint several darker bricks in the original color because i felt i had over done it. On the short wall i had to go in and add more brick colors because I felt the original wall wasnt varied enough. The foundation to the wall is balsa wood painted with "make it like stone" paint. The drain pipe was done with 2 bendy straws.
ferrari87 Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 Thanks Tubbs! I have some outside pictures and I'll have them up shortly!
1930fordpickup Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 This looks good. I like the color variety in the blocks.
Ramfins59 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Good job Justin. I love the work on the brick walls and the corrugated garage door.
tubbs Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 nice. those outside shot just enhances the great work. in fact, I just noticed the missing brick just to the left above the door. nice touch.
ferrari87 Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 Thank you very much gentlemen for the kind words. Al, I added a few missing bricks and am still flirting with the idea of adding the white powder seen in philbass's Restoration thread to give it a bit more of a weathered look. However for now, I think it will do fine as a backdrop to my cars. Thank you guys again.
Scalper Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Cool..I like the weeds or the moss thats growing.. this will look sweet as your background.
ferrari87 Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 Thanks scalper. I tried to make it a little messy, almost like the owner just went out with a weed-eater and just cut everything down, hence the green smudge on on of the lower walls.
SpitShineTommy Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Looks awesome. How did you do the garage door?
charlie8575 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Nice job. Did you carve those bricks into the wood, or are they an overlay of some kind? Charlie Larkin
