Mad Slammer Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Hi... i recently bought some resin bodies including the 65 lincoln highboy... I was expecting something a bit larger... so I'm currently without a clue on how to use this body... Has anyone here ever built this thing??? Thanks...
cobraman Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I bought one and I built it. I will find it and post a pic soon. If anything it will give a guys a good laugh.
Harry P. Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 But seriously... what is that supposed to be?
Jantrix Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) Looks like a fenderless, hot rod. I'd happily take it off your hands. Something like this. Edited January 22, 2015 by Jantrix
cobraman Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 It's a chopped, shortened, narrowed, 65 Lincoln "thing". And here is is.. remember once you see it you can't unsee it ! I will be interested to see what you do with it.

Mad Slammer Posted January 22, 2015 Author Posted January 22, 2015 But seriously... what is that supposed to be? Well... ummmm.... eh, ufff ... It's kinda.... jeez... I would say... Bro, actually I have no idea... jejejeje....
cobraman Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I tried to make it in the style of a Roth build. I could not think of anything else to do with it. I have never seen another one finished into something................... with good reason ! : )
horsepower Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 A couple of years ago I saw a real (can't really say full size lol) '65 Falcon at Hot August Nites in Reno that was done this way.
unclescott58 Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Okay..... I don't know what to say about what I'm seeing here. The Lincoln..... Or the two Tempests. I guess, to each his own? Scott
Snake45 Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I think these are kinda cool. Back in the mid '80s I sketched up early Mustang and Camaro "rods" in this style, but I never actually built them. The body aft of the firewall is easy, but I could never figger out how to incorporate the front end/radiator in a way that I liked.
cobraman Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I built a shortened Vette on the order of those Pontiac's.
bobthehobbyguy Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 What in the world is that supposed to be? Its a hot rod based on a Lincoln. The design was done by Thom Taylor presented in an issue of rod and custom dream cars page.
Pim Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I am currently doing something similar with a London cab
unclescott58 Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) I built a shortened Vette on the order of those Pontiac's. This I kind of like. And I don't know why. It just looks right to me. Good job Ray. Scott Edited January 22, 2015 by unclescott58
Guest Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I did something similar with a '57 T-Bird. It's setting on a Phantom Vickie chassis and suspension. Never got any farther than this though.
Mad Slammer Posted January 22, 2015 Author Posted January 22, 2015 Thank you guys... I was thought I was the only one stuck with this thing...
DrKerry Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 What about Aaron Grotes Atomic Punk 60 Buick???
Deano Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 What about Aaron Grotes Atomic Punk 60 Buick??? Pretty sure it was a 59 Plymouth. I've got the build photos around here somewhere.
