Filter Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Hi Modelers, this is my first 1:25 plastic-kit since i stopped building Kits in the late 80s a friend gave me the Freightliner Kit for christmas 2013 and that hooks me up i'm now fully back into plastic i realized fast: building big kits ist a different story than customizing 1:64 scale Die Cast So started late December 2013 with the COE i finished it in November 2014, including 2 Cars and the Tanker I didn't like some things AMT made so i had to change the things i didn't like shortened the front axle, made a new exhaust and air-intake from aluminum tubing changed the wheels to 5-spoke, removed chrome for a fleet-workhorse-look , i don't like chrome overloaded trucks removed the problematic door steps an made the more primitive ones the tanker: i removed the chrome and gave it a matt aluminum finish otherwise it's out of box so for sure it's possible to build it better, but for the first one, im quite happy with it, for the outside fotos, i caught the rare late autumn sun enough words, pics: 1
Old Buckaroo Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Bravo ! You have done excellent work on a challenging kit. Everything looks fantastic, love the photos with the "Cops" . We all know why that driver wasn't paying attention to his speed with the fine reading material.
Jim B Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I think you captured the White-Freightliner fleet look quite well. Great job. With the "mountain" in the background it looks like Colorado or New Mexico.
Badluck 13 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 That is one of the nicest Freightliner/tanker combo I have seen , interior is so realistic and love the slight used/weathered look exterior.
Superpeterbilt Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Excellent work. Looks like the real deal. Its good to have another builder here that loves spoke wheels, and not so much chrome. Great job
towman1271 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Totally amazing..You hit that thing spot on
vincen47 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Impressive build and a really neat diorama scene.
guitarsam326 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 (edited) Fantastic build, and I'm with ya on the no chrome, there's nothin like an old school workhorse! Edited January 27, 2015 by guitarsam326
Mackvision Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Very nice work, some great photography as well,a very realistic build to say the least! my compliments on a job well done!.....................Mark
ZIL 111V Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Wuderschon! herr Boehm. Stunning! your "one piece" cab work looks flawless, mild weathering in & out, + those IMC spokes, really stunning piece. Same goes for your superb work on the good 'ol Fruehauf tanker, a real "toughy" to get right, again great workmanship. Very nice top pictures...'70 "Interceptor" looks really nice too.
kilrathy10 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Flippin' awesome, Dude....Flippin' awesome.....Great job on a difficult kit....You sure picked a good one to reenter the hobby.....Wow....This thing is quite amazing....I like everything about it....And I'm a guy that likes the bling on trucks.....Done tastefully, anyway.....This is a very good representation and that back drop is Awesome.....Just a beautiful place to take pictures.....Beautiful....
Nacho Z Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Very, very nice! I especially like the first two pictures.
#1Volsfan Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Very nice! The mild weathering and attention to detail really shows in these projects. Great photography also. Job well done sir.
purepmd Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Outstanding! I am very much aligned with JT, I like fancy working trucks, but this workhorse is work of art. Superbly done. I really like when great vision and skill come together.
slusher Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Impressive build. Very realistic weathering and not overdone. Great diorama and pictures..
Filter Posted January 29, 2015 Author Posted January 29, 2015 thank you all for your comments i appreciate a lot
disabled modeler Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Great build!....I am a huge fan of the older truck look with the spoke wheels too....very nice!
OlSchoolRedo Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Great looking Freightliner fleet truck, but driver's day appears not to be so good. I have a "beater" truck currently on my workbench and hope to finish and feature it soon, and your truck helps get me motivated on it. Great job!
