I hate to spoil the fun but the JF body trim is wrong for a Ranchero. '57 Rancheros had the Custom 300 trim rather than the Custom's. If JF has waited for a couple of months until the announced Del Rio is released, he would have been able to have the correct base for a correct Ranchero trim.

Nevertheless I like your work.

Walid makes a point about the side trim. I believed that the trim on this would be standard, then I did a search using just 1957 Ranchero. I found a copy of a 1957 sales catalog. They show the Custom 300 trim, but also a base Ranchero with no side trim at all. I think the trim on your kit looks good. Its up to you how to build it. You might take a look using the same 1957 Ranchero that I did and see what a lot of 1:1 Rancheros look like . Just to get some ideas. I will enjoy watching this build.

The side trim is slightly different on the real car. When I did mine, I removed the front part of the trim where it curves up, and re-did it according to photographs I saw. From what I see, this one looks pretty good. I may get one just to do a more utilitarian Ranchero.

That looks pretty nice... is that side trim correct for the Ranchero? The pics I've seen online all seem to have full-length trim w/ the dip (2 variations) or no side trim at all..

That side trim works for me. Especially if you two tone it. It takes the monotany out of the sides of the vehicle to me. I may have to get one of them for myself to do a base model to bookend with my custom trimmed one..

I agree it's your model do it the way you want. I'm also glad to know that body works with the new 57. Looking good a nice unusual subject.
