I think it's safe to post this now. I am cursed by my WIP, something always goes wrong and it's usually the body. This is the first body I have had a pretty much perfect paint job on. I had some issues with the engine cover and some paint chipped. I stripped the engine cover and I am getting ready to repaint it.

The color is Grigio Silverstone from Scale FInishes, with a Dupli-Color lacquer clear. The clear was lightly sanded and polished.

I usually like to add a lot of detail, but this one is straight out of the box, with the included PE parts.

I got lazy and didn't test fit everything. There is a problem with the rear driveshafts and when I went to install the wheels, the camber was super jacked up. Trying to carefully adjust some parts, the whole BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH thing started breaking apart. The half shafts are broken and I don't even care any more. The rest of this car looks fine. I pretty much just have to do the interior and it's done. I have a lineup of Ferraris to build with detail. With this being my least favorite, I started it first to get some practice on these non-Tamiya cars.

Putting my new spray booth to good use.

Superb color and paintwork

The rear deck lid looks better before being stripped than any of my final paint jobs!

I have the same Grex airbrush and I think mine is possessed by green gremlins or something....or I am just a moron and can't follow proper steps

Like your paint booth a lot, it looks like fume hood

I have the Fujimi version of this kit waiting in my stash pile

It took me a while to get the hang of it. i had an issue with paint leaking from the trigger area, but got it resolved and it works great

I stopped worrying about PSI and I bought the quick change adapter with the thumb screw air adjustment. Now I go off feel and sound and it is much better.

I appreciate everyone's comments. I usually ruin every build with my terribly painting skills, but I am getting better. Also, the Scale Finishes paint is incredible. The Duplicolor clear is ready to use from the can and works great. I'm super happy with this.

great build. I like that graphite kind of color, especially with the mile deep clear. too bad about the suspension but it will probably be well hidden, I don't really see a problem in the photos. but I would say that Hasegawa kits are right on a par with Tamiya and other Japanese manufacturers.

It's just tricky. the engine block is 4 pieces and the suspension is like 6 pieces each side and you have to get it just right or the angles are weird. In person if you look close, you'll see the super glue, otherwise it's not too bad. It's just frustrating.

Very nice. I did my Hasegawa 328 GTS in gunmetal grey with a red over black interior and it's a fantastic color combo. This kit is a real sweetheart to build and you're really doing it justice so far.

Here is the engine cover sprayed for the second time, before the clear coat. This would look good as a satin finish paint job

This is the clear coat I have been using. Super easy to use.

Here is the engine cover after clear. It will need some light sanding and polishing.

This is my airbrush setup. When not in use, i disconnect the airbrush and the air hose goes in the drawer and everything is out of the way.

That is a sweet little painting set up you got there

Thanks for showing

Ferrari looks great, what is next on your build list???

One of the 17 kits I have started. My next serious focus is the 68 Hemi Dart. Everything is primered and all the chrome parts have been stripped, primered and painted with gloss black base. Once I get some color I will start a WIP.

I love this Hasagawa kit and its great to see you doing a good job on it. I am most impressed with your spray booth. I want one of those :D

Like your Ferrari. I built one sometime in the past. Wonder where it is. You booth gives me an idea about my sandblast cabinet I'm not using any more.

I cut out the inside wall of some aluminum tubing to essentially make a circular razor blade. I used this to cut little circles in the Tamiya masking tape so I could mask off the clear area of the amber taillights. It worked like a charm.

I should have foiled behind the taillights, but I glued them on before I remembered to. I foiled the headlights though

The license plate didn"t turn out very good, I may re-do that
