slusher Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Outstanding build. Love seeing these classic stock cars. Excellent work..
TooOld Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Great looking build ! You're obviously not a Lee Petty fan .
MarkJ Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 Not true. If they had a model of a 59 Olds 88 like he drove I would build that too.
TooOld Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Not true. If they had a model of a 59 Olds 88 like he drove I would build that too. Actually I was referring to who won the first Daytona 500 .
MarkJ Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 Yes I know. It was Lee Petty in a 59 olds.
Old Coyote Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Great build Mark ............. that's really impressive B)
DR JAY Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Great Job! I really like this. BTW--Modelhaus does a 1959 Olds 88 2 door and if it's anything close to the 59 Olds 98 I ordered years ago, it's fantastic.
W-409 Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Great looking Stock Car. It's nice to see these older Stock Cars built as well, and you're the master in building these. Another beauty in every way from paint and decals to that fine detailing all over the car. What kit did you use as basis for this one?
MarkJ Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 Niko, it is the Monogram 1958 Thunderbird convertible kit. It comes with a hardtop. Had to change it from a 58 to a 59. I saw the kit in a michaels store the other day.
MarkJ Posted March 12, 2015 Author Posted March 12, 2015 Finally found out how to link my fotki to this site instead of having to download pictures directly from my computer. Hosted on Fotki
TooOld Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Much clearer photo , it really shows off your work better ! Very nice !
Scalper Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Love them old Nascar.. when they looked like the real car.. great job.

Dominik Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Much clearer photo , it really shows off your work better ! Very nice ! i agree. superb!
MarkJ Posted August 8, 2017 Author Posted August 8, 2017 I was fixing links photobucket ruined and found that I had posted this model with fotki. I had to stop using them when they wanted money to stay a member. What's funny is even though I cant use them anymore they did not kill my links so this car remains visible on the internet even though I can t access it anymore. Today I see photobucket is giving you a deal to get 3rd party hosting. they are knocking off a whole 10 percent from the 400 dollars a year they want. Isn't that magnanimous of them to do that.
