carcrazy19 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I have a quick question about mock up. What do most of you guys use to mock up your models? I've been using tape but when comes to mocking up small parts like spindals and axles to adjust the ride hieght or engines to check clearences tape just doesnt work well. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
johnbuzzed Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Elmer's glue- the white stuff you can find in just about any store. If it sticks too much, you can soak the parts to be unstuck in water.
Scott Colmer Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Micro Mark Liquid tape is my favorite. Takes some clean up with rubbing alcohol and a toothpick to get if off. One bottle can last years. I've used white glue as well.
jas1957 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I use blue masking tape & Aleene's clear tacky glue.
Lunajammer Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I've used white glue, and while it adheres adequately for temporary use, I don't nearly have the patience to wait for it to dry before I can let go. So I'll be watching this thread.
Foxer Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Repeating most of what's been said ... I use tape when I can with large body parts and frame. Micro Mark Liquid tape is the best I've found for getting things to stick quickly. White glue is fine if I want to wait a day for a quick mockup .. no thank you.
Quick GMC Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 http://www.blutack.com/ always handy. I just started using this, it's the best. If your parts are primed and painted well, it won't pull the paint off. Also I use this as masking for weird areas.
