Harry P.
I've just found another forum member who's using my avatar as his own. That's the second time in a couple of weeks that my avatar has been...uh, "borrowed". What's the deal, guys? Are you copying and pasting it from my posts? Geez, I thought my avatar would be safe to use without worrying about someone else grabbing it... I guess I should be flattered that you all like it well enough to claim it as your own, but I created that illustration...so please find your own graphic to use and let me keep mine! Or we can work out a nice little licensing fee...
dub
This site has a bank of avatar pics. If you don't import one, You can chose from ones already in the "bank". When I set mine, I saw yours listed in there, so that's where the new folks are geting it from.
Rick Schmidt
Harry he's right its in the preloaded ones we can chhose from. Its like the forum picks the ones it likes and steals em lol. I seen some in there that I know are pics of the person that created it or a model someone used as an avatar. Its weird maybe one of the high ups can explain this
Randy Kern
He's right, Harry. You can even be Bill Geary, or Jairus, or even Daniel Peterson!
Harry P.
Well, I didn't think guys were doing it maliciously, but still...it's MY freakin' avatar! What's this "avatar bank"???? That has to go. GREGG!!!!!!!!!!
Harry P.
On second thought...maybe we can charge a fee for avatar usage... GREGG!!!!!!!!
Darin Bastedo
It appears that this forum gives posters an option of picking from the avatars that we've uploaded, and doesn't ID them as to who uploaded it.
Ron
LOL>>>>>well atleast someone didnt steal a self created avatar of yourself playing guitar......that happened to me on a music forum and the guy had the nerve to tell everyone it was him....since I am known well enough there..it was quickly fixed. Kinda like someone showing you a picture of your wife...and saying it was theirs. LOL Ron
Harry P.
It appears that this forum gives posters an option of picking from the avatars that we've uploaded, and doesn't ID them as to who uploaded it. But I didn't upload my avatar from cyberspace...it's an illustration that I did. I created the illustration, and am using it as my avatar. I don't think our avatars should be made available as public property...the whole point of an avatar is that it's your own personal "thing". GREGG!!!! Rick Schmidt
It's only certain ones I think cause I never seen mine in there
Dave McFly
even if someone stole my avatar, they'd give it back when they realize that it's a Chevy Beretta.... ouch wait, I OWNED a Beretta as for avatars, I MADE mine and if anybody wants a sweet animated one like mine, PM me and i can do my best . Modelmartin
Not that anyone would use it but why is my Aardvark Models logo in the Avatar bank? Please remove it. GREGG!!
MojaveRacer104
I find my off road race car in there too! I built it, I won a Championship with it, I still own it, I took the picture with my camera, I scanned it, and I uploaded it from my harddrive. I also find the avatars of several others I have seen on this forum and other forums. I agree with you guys! Those are our own images and should never be shared! That is a violation of our copyrights!!! ... and just downright WRONG!!!! GREGG!!!!!

Hopefully he can restrict access to the images without blocking our avatars.
Danno
Wow! One of my models is in the avatar gallery. I'm published!! Seriously, I don't know what to think. I think I'm flattered. I think.

GREGG!!!! (I don't think he can hear me from all the way over in paradise...) Maybe he will hear when the process server knocks? "Notice from the law firm of "Dewey, Ficksum & Howe"..." On the other hand... This is very likely a feature of the IPB bb which Gregg has no control over and probably no prior knowledge of... Gregg
I step out for a bit and all hell breaks lose! What did Jairus do now? I will see what the avatars are set at, and change it if I can.
mikelo
While none of the ones I did of my own art are included, I did notice my first one, that I used a drawing from my friend Eric, is in there not once, not twice, but five times! I think I'm kinda hurt. To think two people choose your one, while no one picked any of the five of mine that wern't even done by me!
