Tony T
I bought this kit in 1992 and finished it last night, apparently as luck would have it on "First Contact Day"! (Actually, 50 years before...April 5, 2063, from the movie "First Contact"). I built it for my son, who is the biggest Star Trek fan in our family (We are all fans). Gave it to him today after taking pictures. All paint work was done by brush, except for the stand which I spray painted. I'm happy that it turned out all and that I finally got it done! My son is happy with it, which is what counted for this build. The full PB album is here. Enjoy and please offer any comments or critiques. Thanks! The smile says it all! MAGNUM4342
No decal sheet for Tony! Hand painting it all paid off. Well done.

TooOld
Holy Cow ! ! No wonder it took 20 + years to finish it ! I enjoy hand painting details but could only do something like this for about 30 minutes before going nuts . Excellent work and it sure looks like it was worth it ! Miatatom
WOW!!!! That's a super job. Your son looks like he's got it displayed in a safe location. I'm a Trekkie (Trekker?). A local station has the show on at 9 PM on Saturday's. I have them set up to record. Didn't realize this was Contact Day minus 50 years. Tony T
Thanks for the comments, I appreciate them. April 5, 2063 was the date in 'First Contact' movie that Cocrane ran the Phoenix and the Vulcans then came to visit. My son is thrilled with the build. It has been a long time coming and I finally decided that I should get it finished!

MoparWoman Jamie
That looks great! I'm a Star Wars guy myself but also a Trekkey as well. I already did the Death Star from Star Wars so I know what you mean by the hand painting of details. Your son looks very happy in the photo with the model you built him.
