This is one I've been working on for a few months now and have a couple little things to finish up but its pretty much done. Its the monogram f250 cut to a single cab and built as a replica of my 1:1 truck. There's probably 4 kits that donated parts to this one but definitely worth it. The exhaust ends at a muffler dumping out behind the cab just like the real one. It has a 4x4 conversion using the bronco front suspension. I used the actual 6 inch rough country lift on the real truck to get the right parts on the model and basically its just really big lift blocks between the leaf springs and the axle in back and drop brackets for all of the TTB parts up front. I still have to make some shocks for it and make the drive shafts. I also need a toolbox for the bed, if anyone can help me out with that I would appreciate it. This was my first shot at cutting a cab down and modifying a kit this much (have to thank kitbasher for showing how to cut this kit down) and I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Looks good! Which Bronco kit did you use to get the right front suspension and differential? I have a kit and a promo that I'd like to convert to a four wheel drive but I have been wondering which four wheel drive kit has that bizarre front end set up in it that would pass for something close to stock?

I have a 92 F150 4x4 that serves me daily - I hate the truck but in five years of daily driving, I've only had to replace the water pump. I change oil and filters, grease it but it still is running fine so I haven;t so much as pulled a spark plug out of it. It's even got the same tires on it as when I acquired it in a trade. It's a 300 six cylinder with a 5 speed transmission and the thing couldn't get out of its own way as far as power goes, but it's affordable to drive and it never has let me down. What I hate more than anything about the truck is the colour - it's that crappy burgundy that Ford used for so many years. If I was ever to repaint it, I'd do a complete colour change to white and that light silvery green colour that they had. The only truck that I've owned that was as reliable as this one is our old '77 ranger F150 Supercab that we have owned since 1986. I am a GM guy at heart, but I have to admit that Ford made some good trucks.

Thanks everyone, glad to see you guys like it, and Gary the monogram 1980 bronco is the one I got the suspension out of. It is the closest to stock I could get for this truck. I've always been a ford guy (I've had 6 ford pickups) and I agree they have made some good trucks, I'm a fan of pickups of any make though.

Nice conversion Kyle, I dig it. Always cool to be able to build replica of something you own/owned. Fellow Ford guy here too. Some day I'd like to kitbash these same kits to build a 87-91 Bronco.

I would love to do a bronco that bodystyle as well, I've toyed with the idea a bit but never really looked at what would have to be done to either kit to make the conversion.

Thank you, The tires on this are from the revel rubicon kit to answer an earlier question. Also on the bronco conversion I think the entire lower section of the truck would need to be switched because the bronco has different body lines, I was wondering if it would be possible to cut the bedsides and cab on the f250 and mold them together to make a bronco body and then just use the chassis, interior tub, and the cap from the bronco.

I have yet to put a lot of thought into which route would be best, but think I'd modify the Bronco body. Take the front clip off the F250 and graft it onto the Bronco, as well as cab from the lower chrome trim down. The same would have to be done for the back half of the Bronco using the truck's box (obviously not all of the bed length would be needed). The taillights and tailgate would need to be changed, too. I know the dash and door panels would have to be used from the truck, but believe the rest of the interior would be ok as is. It would be a lot of work, but it could be done. One could also shorten the bed on the F250 the appropriate amount, and mold it into the cab. The greenhouse from the Bronco could be swapped on (or just the rear section of it). Don't know how well that would go, though. A lot to ponder.......

I do believe that Revell made a 80-86 body style Bronco. Crazy Richard is working on one now. It would be a good place to start. I think it is the one pulling the race boat in the combo kit.

Nice looking model Kyle! I really like the look it has! The fact that it's built after a real truck makes it even cooler. I hated this generation Ford truck when they came out. My dad bought one new in '87. Many years later, I like them! A few years ago, I built a regular cab short bed from the same kit and currently have another project that I'm making a 7.3 Powerstoke engine for and converting it to four wheel drive with a set of 49" SoReal tires.

Are you kidding me? I have the same project on my "get around to it list" I also have a black F-150 , except mine is not a 4x4 ... I also have a toolbox. Nice job on the model. Now if I can get the thing to stop blowing the brake light fuse it will be perfect.
