MCM Ohana (6/6)

  1. A few of mine... The first two I built sometime in my late teens. (and if someone has a spare drivers side taillight for the Ford, shoot me a message)
  2. You did excellent work on the miles of chrome on this, not a fun task. Build looks killer from every aspect.
  3. Man 'o man is that ever sharp! Quite possibly the best looking 71 Charger I've seen built. I agree with what was said earlier in that the paint is close to Winchester Gray. Excellent detailing under the hood. And, the steelies and caps, how can one not love that look!
  4. That orange is a big improvement, great choice and well done!
  5. Very well done, all your mods and additions really bring it to life.
  6. That is one great looking Galaxie! Stance is really on point.
  7. Thanks guys!
  8. Very kewl, and looks period correct. Man, that would be one fun rocket to drive!
  9. Thanks a bunch guys!
  10. Gotta love a Grabber Blue Torino, such a great color on them. Sharp build.
  11. Haven't stopped in here in awhile, been a little AWOL with life's going's on. But in the meantime I did get another build wrapped up, the tried and true Revell kit. I added my usual plumbing under the hood, and drilled open the end of the air cleaner snorkle. During the photoshoot I noticed the radiator hose needed touch-up with some flat clear, so I did that tonight. Speaking of said piece, it wasn't the greatest fit, but just left it as-is. Same with the tail lights, not the best fit, and wish I would have tinkered with them a bit. Other changes I made were to swap in a set of rally wheels, and raised the stance a little as I feel like these kits tend to sit a bit low. I hosed the body down in Model Master Daytona Yellow lacquer. Overall a great little kit, a little surprised it's taken me this long to finally throw one of these '69 Camaros together. Thanks for looking and any comments/questions.
  12. Thanks Jack, but believe me, she's got some warts hahaha. Thanks Steve. The stance is technically out of the box, however, I didn't seat the frontside of the chassis all the way up into the body. I did that as a result of the breathers sitting too high and not allowing the hood to sit flush (still not perfect but much better). I have heard some builders have rectified this issue by modding the crossmember to allow the engine to sit lower. Thanks Mike. Yes they are one piece, and take a lot of work and patience . Thanks for all the comments guys! My next build will have fewer/smaller decals!
  13. Managed to drag another kit across the finish line on Sunday. Salvino's JR kit, not too bad to put together. Box stock other than ignition wires, scratch made rear window braces, and opened up exhaust dump ends. Tamiya TS-23 Light Blue hosed down everywhere. I did use Powerslide's decals for the vermillion. Those huge decals gave me problems even with lots of setting solution, heat, and time. I did the best I could with them and called it good. In the end I had to mix up a small batch of paint and do some touch-ups here and there. Not my best work by any means, but still love the looks of it and glad to add this iconic racecar to my collection. Thanks fer lookin' and any comments/questions.
  14. Very well done! Always liked those Tide liveries.
  15. Very nice pair Jim! The Phantom is amongst my favorite jets as well. I've got a couple 1/48 ones in the stash I'd like to build, but like you mentioned, space is a issue.
