  1. From a 57 Chevy brochure is a 4 door and 2 door side by side. This might help.
  2. All it needs now is a padded Landau top and some opera lights on the side....................
  3. This car won the Concours D' Elegance at Pebble Beach this year. The yellow car is the original model.
  4. Our first house was in Roseville, Michigan. Shadowoods was about a mile down the road from us. Tom worked at the Chrysler Engineering Center for a short while.............that's where I met him. The place is still in business and run by Richard Tigannelli.
  5. We worked at the Chrysler Technical Center in Highland Park Michigan back then. In 1992 we moved to the new technical center in Auburn Hills Michigan. Back then the Race Engine Group consisted of 2 full time engine builders, 3 dyno operators and 3 or 4 engineers depending on what programs were being run. We did all race engine development for NASCAR, NHRA and the Mopar Direct Connection Program which included Hemi, RB, and LA engine development. We did a lot of development on different sizes of engines for different forms of racing. The 288" engine was a destroked 340" along with a 296" and a 305" LA engines. There were also 366", 396", and 405" Hemi engines for NASCAR. We did the W2 cylinder head program and the "R" series of LA race engine blocks which ended with the R6 in 2007. This is a picture of the Race Engine Group in 1978. I am 3rd from the left in the top row. Ken Heatlie, 2nd from left bottom row, was one of the Golden Commandos and built the engines for the drag cars.
  6. Can't really remember what the S/S engines were making off hand. In 1977 and early 1978 we spent a lot of time developing the engine for the 1978 Daytona race and our goal was 600 HP which we did make using the 355" LA engine. After finishing the NASCAR development we spent a lot of time doing an 8bbl version of the small block for NHRA. Ted's car switched to running in Gas, (E/Gas I think) using a 288" small block with dual quads (see pictures). We made around 500HP at 10,000 rpm. After that we spent time developing the same engine for Bob Glidden to use in the Pro-Stock Plymouth Arrows. .
  7. Here is a picture of the car running Super/Stock K. That's Ted Flack, the driver and owner, standing at the back of the car. Ted and I ran 2 of the race engine dynos at Chrysler Engineering in the 1970's doing NASCAR and NHRA race engine development. Later on we worked together, along with Howard Comstock, on the Dodge NASCAR race program from 2001 till we all retired. (See the Flack & Comstock name on the rear pillar). Ted and I each worked over 40 years each at Chrysler in the Dodge Motorsports group.
  8. The Porsche 935K race cars were my favorite race cars of all time. I really followed them during the 70's and 80's at LeMans etc. They were so wicked looking and sounded so sweet when they were on the throttle. I have about a dozen diecast versions from Quartzo that I just love. Awesome cars.

Based on the Borg-Warner Trophy that features the likeness of every Indianapolis 500 race winner, the Hot Wheels trophy celebrates the past 99 Indy 500s with Hot Wheels vehicles that draw inspiration from the stories, colors and numbers of winning drivers and cars from each year. Ryan Hunter-Reay, the 2014 Indianapolis 500 champion from Andretti Autosport, introduced the Hot Wheels trophy. It will be part of the Hot Wheels Race to Win exhibit at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis from May 31-Aug. 13. The trophy will be at the Hot Wheels display in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Fan Zone from May 25 through the race on May 29. "My first experience with racing was with Hot Wheels cars," said Hunter-Reay. "I remember zipping cars down the orange track and now I watch my two sons do the same. Sharing stories from past races with my kids opens up a conversation about hard work, competition and my passion for racing." Standing approximately 9 feet tall, the Hot Wheels Indy 500 Championship Trophy has 99 1/64-scale cars representing each of the previous Indianapolis 500 races. The base of the trophy is wrapped with the famed Hot Wheels oran About this article Series IndyCar Event Indy 500 Track Indianapolis Motor Speedway Drivers Ryan Hunter-Reay Article type Red zone: what's trending now News Formula 1 Verstappen says new Renault engine a "positive" step 56m Photos Formula 1 Barcelona May testing 287 photos2016-05-17 News Formula 1 Barcelona F1 test: Verstappen keeps Red Bull on top 1h News Formula 1 Kvyat hails "crucial" day of testing with Toro Rosso 37m News Formula 1 Alonso's engine went into fuel cut-off mode in Spanish GP 8h News Formula 1 Massa says radical Williams aero can help 2016 car 19m To the IndyCar main page

  14. I realize that but was looking for an easy way out in this case. Thanks. I will probably end up doing it that way anyway.
  15. Yep...................Dodge through and through.................here is a T-shirt we had made up during the NASCAR season in 2003 or 2004????????It says it all. Remember the song "Who let the dogs out" by the Baha Men? This shirt was a takeoff on that.
  16. The picture was taken in 2003 and I retired in 2007....................yep....................that is a CRT
  17. First time here so I hope someone can help me out. I collect and build NASCAR die cast cars. Recently I was given a 2008 Action Collectibles 1/24 scale die cast car. (see attached pic). However, it is missing the rear deck spoiler. I am pretty sure it is the same spoiler used on all of the Car of Tomorrow models that were made by Action in that time frame, no matter the car model(Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Camry). Anyone know where I can get one????
  18. As you can tell by my name I am a pretty old guy. Been collecting and building NASCAR die cast cars for quite awhile. Worked at Chrysler Engineering Center for over 42 years in the Race Engine Development area (NASCAR and NHRA and VIPER Comp Coupe engines). Best job ever!!!!!!!! Spent 1967 in Vietnam as a Combat Engineer.
