  1. They made 2 version of the kit, curbside and full detail later. Thanks! Thank you guys!
  2. Ha, those are pretty funny looking cars! Yup, that 's for sure. I don't even know what happened there.... Thanks! Thank you!
  3. Thank you, agree - 2K is a very nice clear, and it makes laying down a good paintjob easier. The shine is like no other! You bet! Oh man, that F50 build seems like its been ages ago.... Time flies. Thanks!
  4. Haha, German-heavy....Its more like BMW collection than a collection - 99% are bimmers. I'm a big BMW fan, diecast and real life. Thank you! A lot of JDM cars are very cool. This one is more quirky than cool Thank you! Much appreciated.
  5. Thank you - those are Ikea cabinets. Billy, I believe. thanks! Thanks! Warhol car - if you ever decide to build one, I think decal Doc has the decals - but I would rather try to paint it freehand, like Andy did ?
  6. Umm, no, I shoot in manual - settings depend on the light and the object being photographed.
  7. You bet! Thank you! I re-scribe ALL panel lines before painting, so they are much deeper than what kit makes make them. That is the only trick really. Here is the link to WIP thread for this model - you can see couple of shot there with primer on and panel lines re-scribed: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/152843-tamiya-124-mazda-rx-7-fd-3s/
  8. As long as I'm sitting here at home, no reason to stop! I polish the windows just like I do with paint on the body. Same principle really. No, I have a room dedicated to my models - in addition to kits I have a VERY big collection of diecast in 18th scale. Here are couple of pix: Thanks! Appreciate it!
  9. Model is completed. DSC_0199 by Italian Horses, on Flickr DSC_0192 by Italian Horses, on Flickr Over the last 3 months of the "social distancing", I have reduced my stash of boxes by 8. Here they are: IMG_2214 by Italian Horses, on Flickr Here is the result of the last 12 weeks of model building: IMG_2218 by Italian Horses, on Flickr Cheers all!
  10. Thank you guys! Thanks! I don't really have a booth - just a sheet of poster paper, and a $30 6K LED panel from Home Depot.
  11. What a weird-looking car! Awesome job on it.
  12. Well, unless Tamiya screwed up, I think its right - it is molded into the floor, I just painted it! Thanks!
  13. I'm on a home stretch with this one, which is no surprise given the number of parts! Interior parts were painted in their base colors, then detail painted and assembled. Little stuff like lights, mirrors, and wipers left. DSC_0185 by Italian Horses, on Flickr DSC_0190 by Italian Horses, on Flickr DSC_0188 by Italian Horses, on Flickr
  14. Completed pictures are now up in Under the Glass section.
  15. that is pretty unbelievable, if you ask me. I don't think I've seen a car for less than $300 stateside. And those are usually non-driving, dilapidated piles of junk.
  16. Yup. Road and racing versions in fact.
  17. Meanwhile, I have an update. Assembled the engine, lol: IMG_2130 by Italian Horses, on Flickr Put together.. erm...suspension: IMG_2129 by Italian Horses, on Flickr Painted and assembled tiny wheels: IMG_2131 by Italian Horses, on Flickr Completed chassis: IMG_2133 by Italian Horses, on Flickr Painted the window frits - what a pain in such a small piece with so many of them! DSC_0176 by Italian Horses, on Flickr DSC_0174 by Italian Horses, on Flickr Masked and painted all the black elements and trim on the body: IMG_2117 by Italian Horses, on Flickr IMG_2116 by Italian Horses, on Flickr Took of the masks, painted headlight buckets chrome: DSC_0181 by Italian Horses, on Flickr VERY carefully transferred old, brittle decal stripes. Was quite a job, but turned out great in the end. DSC_0179 by Italian Horses, on Flickr DSC_0177 by Italian Horses, on Flickr Interior next!
  18. Finished this one recently. Box-stock, painted Zero paints Innocent Blue Mica, Advantage HD 2K clear, Tamiya acrylics on the interior/rest. This is one of the JDM versions of the car (Efini RX-7) with no engine detail. Glued the hood shut to make panel lines nice and even. Terrific Tamiya kit.
  19. Nice job! Wait, you bought a real car for 25 quid?
