  1. That looks awesome! In fact, I think you just gave me an idea of what to build next!
  2. That looks great in yellow! I might do one in similar color later. It is a great kit, very typical Tamiya! Thanks!
  3. Yes, I really like that shade of yellow! Thank you. 2K - its a love and hate relationship. If you mix it right, it is self leveling, never goes on lumpy, and has a lot of shine and brilliance to it when it dries. Mix it wrong - and its a disaster. And next to impossible to strip off plastic. So, yeah... Thanks, yes - its hilarious! Cheers! True that! Yup, those are awesome. Thanks, I think I like the steelies! Yeah, this is one of those obscure Tamiya kits they made primarily for domestic market. There is really not much to modify there! The reason I decanted the paint cause I had it already sitting in my stash. Why buy something when you already have it Some 15 years ago when I was really into building I have accumulated quite a collection of paint, which I STILL use to this day. Except for primer and some staples like blacks and metallics, I have not bought any paint in years! Thanks!
  4. TR gotta be red, come on!
  5. Yup, not a lot of people build these outside of Japan I'd imagine. Motorized kits are not very fast. This one has one battery, so will be even slower. Haha, yep. Like I said, they are not, enough to make it interesting for the kids, I guess. Most parts (like there a lot, lol) were cleaned up, painted in base colors: IMG_2106 by Italian Horses, on Flickr Body was cleaned, sanded, panel lines re-scribed, then 2 goats of grey and white primer: IMG_2102 by Italian Horses, on Flickr IMG_2100 by Italian Horses, on Flickr Then Honda Sunny Yellow (Tamiya Lemon Yellow de-canted and sprayed through airbrush) and 2 coats of 2K clear: IMG_2113 by Italian Horses, on Flickr IMG_2110 by Italian Horses, on Flickr IMG_2109 by Italian Horses, on Flickr
  6. Thanks! Will try to work on my 330 GT, and little Honda Today project! Thanks, I didn't know too until somebody told me! Agreed! thank you! I have not built for 10 years prior to this. They are not packed at all
  7. Looks good for your 10th! Try to use less glossy colors - nothing really glossy on the car except the body! If you have not yet, try Tamiya or Gunze flat acrylics - they are wonderful to work with.
  8. This looks fantastic!
  9. All of the Tamiya box-stockers I have been cranking out lately were done for online Tamiya box-stock contest on another site - but mostly because these are the models I have in my stash, I want to build them, but not interested in building a superdetailed, or even mildly-detailed versions - they are perfect as is from the box. The contest ends July 5th, and I still have a week to try to squeeze model #8 to the finish line. As such, I picked a very simple kit: 1986 Honda Today. Tiniest kit box I've see in 1/24th. Original 1986 issue, just like I like 'em! There are probably total of 40 parts in this kit, but the most interesting thing is that it is a motorized kit - and I intent on making it fully motorized! Since there are not a lot of parts, I expect a lot of detail-painting, but that's just the nature of the beast. The color will be Honda Sunny Yellow!
  10. Time to finish up this one as well. Most tedious work was to paint the taillights - Tamiya gives very vague outline of the lights and it was nightmare of masking, color separation, and making sure the colors don't bleed over each other. Turned out ok in the end, but what a cluster..k! 11. Classic Tamiya kit. Good luck!
  12. Good luck! You'll need it with this kit!
  13. Thank you. Hopefully the colors won't clash too much when assembled.
  14. Umm, well... Yes, there has been some progress, but honestly - not enough to show anything, yet. Mostly cleaning up parts for subsequent assemblies, planning/drawing new parts, test fitting - this kind of stuff that adds value in the entire process, but can't really be seen or captured. Hopefully can show some progress soon.
  15. Shaping up nicely!
  16. Yup, should look nice together! Thanks! Not much left, correct. Thanks! Appreciate it! Thanks. I use anti-static brush and brush the pieces before taking pictures. Works great. Thank you!
  17. OK, I have finished the interior. Long time ago, I saw an RX-7 with a bright red interior. Decided this one will have that! Painted all parts in their base colors: IMG_1923 by Italian Horses, on Flickr Then detail painted all the little bits, masked and painted interior tub black, and assembled the dash: IMG_1987 by Italian Horses, on Flickr IMG_2896 by Italian Horses, on Flickr IMG_1995 by Italian Horses, on Flickr Aaaand the interior is done: IMG_2006 by Italian Horses, on Flickr IMG_2007 by Italian Horses, on Flickr IMG_2009 by Italian Horses, on Flickr IMG_2011 by Italian Horses, on Flickr IMG_2012 by Italian Horses, on Flickr I feel I'm slowing down, but I'm on a home stretch!
  18. Nichimo made some weird cars in odd scales. This one fits their bill just right. Great build!
  19. Fantastic color! Well done.
  20. I usually do 3 parts clear, 1 part activator, and 10% thinners.
  21. Nice paint job! Love the M1 in white.
  22. That fuel rail is all sorts of bizarre.
  23. Nah, I waited for you to be done! I honestly had to work all weekend and haven't even touched models. Looks great! Awesome save on the taillight - I can't even see the crack anymore. Is the emblem on the back - decal?
  24. Looking good!
