  1. This kit shares parts with the '72 Hurst/Olds Convertible. I saw the Season 2 Episode 1 opener of Garage Squad were the Squad rebuilt a '72 Olds 442 from the ground up and it was gold with black stripes. I want that color on my Olds 442! Thanks Noah, David, Carl and Andy!
  2. 1971 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 The 442 W-30 has been painted! Along with some other parts!
  3. 1967 Mercury Comet Cyclone GT One difference between the '67 Comet and the '67 Fairlane is the rear deck difference. The rear deck is longer on the Comet than the Fairlane and it shows in the AMT kit. I made a plate for the chassis which will be painted with Tamiya TS-6 Matt Black. The exhaust tips will either be bent into a straight position or removed for the aluminum tubing.
  4. I got the decals on, but I did break one of the long side decals, which is typical of me. I still have to repaint the hood and add the filler piece of the rear chassis. Moving ahead slowly!
  5. 1967 Mercury Comet Cyclone GT I glued the body on, but the exhaust tips are too far in under the body to be seen, plus there is a gap between the end of the chassis and the inside of the rear bumper. And, the hood is in need of a repaint.
  6. I painted the roof liner of my Merc today. The hood is in a container of Easy Off Oven Cleaner to remove a bad paint job. The Merc is now ready for assembly!

    Volvo 760 GLE

Thank you Atin and David! It is not something you see everyday, but it is a nice piece of history.
  8. Here is a view of the back of the car with the exhaust tips and the bumper guards removed. I removed the front bumper guards, too.

    Volvo 760 GLE

Thank you Garry, James and Gary! I needed a vehicle for my McNally short story, "The Ex-Partner" and this Volvo was in need of a rebuild. It fit the need very well!
  10. This is my Volvo 760 GLE that I rebuilt back in 2019. I lowered the suspension that made the car look like a 4X4 truck. It is a fine addition to my McNally, Boston PI short story entitled, "The Ex-Partner".
  11. I rebuilt my Volvo 760 back in 2019 and lowered the stock suspension which looked like a 4X4 truck. I repainted my Volvo dark green with a tan interior. I left mine stock.
  12. My '65 Mustang Convertible were I tried removing the bumper guards and added the through-the-rear-valance-panel exhaust tips. Painted with Model Master Bright Calypso Metallic with a white interior.
  13. 1967 Mercury Comet Cyclone GT The interior is done! Don't mind the two-tone interior, it is all one color-red! The lighting messes with the camera.
  14. I got the wheels and tires mounted and the chrome exhaust tips on.
  15. Well, my good camera took a dump and stopped working today. I went and got my wife's camera and she left the batteries in it for over 5 years. I had to clean the contacts very well. The wheels and backing plates are one and I will have to shorten the metal axle for the rear axle housing. There must be a guy in China who pumps out these things all one length as I have to trim them! I went and found my chrome tubing and made some chrome exhaust tips.
  16. Thanks David and Bill! I have to find my container of used paint and see if I have enough. Someone elsewhere suggested and weathering the model and making it look sunburnt.
  17. After viewing someone else's '69 GTX, I decided to pull out mine which I had started a couple of years ago and never finished it. I went to clearcoat the model and I forgot that the paint used was MCW Enamel and not MCW Lacquer which was what I have been using for years. Since this was a gift from a model club friend, I realized my mistake, but the damage was done. I have a little paint left and maybe it will be enough to finish off my GTX.
  18. The 455 CI Olds engine is nearly complete. I just need to wire the engine and add the ram air air cleaner.
  19. We have known each other for quite a while, that's for sure! No need to apologize. I should have known, but never picked up on it like I should have. I have watched all 8 seasons of Garage Squad and I have do have my favorites and they do motivate me when needed.
  20. Thanks Greg and Mike! I had originally gone with the green and then I watched Garage Squad Season 2 Episode 1 and saw the '72 442 in gold. I just had to have it! So, the new color of my '71 442 W-30 is Gold! Now to figure out the interior color.
  21. Another color change as I seem to do this quite often. The color is Tamiya TS-21 Gold. This is close to the color of a 1972 Olds 442 that I saw being rebuilt on TV's Garage Squad S2 E1. I haven't decided on using the white or black stripes yet. The chassis is complete, but the engine needs to be finished.
  22. Thanks Len, Carl and David! I have liked the Mercury version better. Maybe it was a higher class of car or something. Mercurys, like Buicks may have a lower HP rating, but they show how fast they are at the strip!
  23. Thanks Jeremy! Now to remove the tape from the body.
