  1. Roger Harney who was the Senior Vice President of tooling & manufacturing for Revell/Monogram Models passed away from complications from prostate cancer surgery yesterday, he was a great guy and we have a lot to thank him for, both he and Ed Sexton were the driving force behind the resurgence of Revell the last few years with all the new tooling you have been enjoying. May you rest in peace Roger.
  2. I picked up mine at Pegasus hobbies today, great decals and it looks pretty much like my original kit,the chrome was not great and had crud in it and had soft detail in spots, like the original the drive shaft is molded into the chassis and too bad they left the rear seat molded in..LOL. I see a lot of pro stock builds coming from people with this kit.
  3. There is no perfect kit and everyone is entitled to their opinion, but stop the darn negative rivet counting !!, if you don't like it don't buy it plain and simple, model kits are a niche market and until a few years ago we were only really getting reissues and there was very few new tooling of Revell Monogram kits. Now that we are getting complete new tooling of several kits.. the rivet counting starts... there's a difference between finding a mistake and they happen, and hopefully they get corrected, but droning on and on and picking every little thing apart..REALLY !!..News Flash.. there is no perfect kit.. nor will there be, but this going on and on and on complaining about every little thing on here is getting ridiculous.....my suggestion.. open the kit if look at it,.. if your not happy after looking at it... take it back...Ok I now return you to Distributor Wars..or Cuda Dynasty..Now I feel better..
  4. I own a real 63 270 and there was a really bad dealer promo but I have not seen one in over 40 years, the 63 has that curved in grill and i've never seen one in resin or i would have it,
  5. Well I picked mine up today and was very very impressed "this not a complaint" just a observation mine had a ton of flash on the chrome trees and the chassis, I guessed it's the price of a new tool getting dialed in. Here's the cool thing for me a lot of parts from the Sox & Martin Johan kit fit nicely into this one...Ok resin guys we need a flat hood to go along with it LOL..The way the economy has been the last few years it's nice to see new tooling and updates in the model arena, it's a nitch market anymore, so thanks to the manufactures..
  6. Ed do you still make the 33 willys pickup gasser, and how much if you do, thanks
  7. Pegasus owns them now...But.... the fronts are toooo small in diameter and the rear tires are out of scale and oversized, your better off getting a cheap action diecast of ebay and using the tires and these days there are plenty of deals on the dragsters and funny car, don't get a racing champions RC2 one, just a suggestion
  8. The Stacy David 32 rat roaster kit has those perfectly in it with grooves
  9. Now bring back the Dick Harrell Camaro and Charlie Allen funny car Kits...PLEASE
  10. The one at Snakes is a recreation we did for the Snake & Mongoose Mattel Hot Wheels Anniversary in 2005, it's not accurate. Here are some picture for you of the real 71 car
  11. It's a resin master designed by Tom West, the company was Milestone Development and is out of business, The masters were not hand carved they were done by C&C. The company only had 3 people Tom West, Brian Gettings and a graphics guy.All manufacturing was done in China. They made mainly 1/16 scale diecast drag racing and NASCAR products with fiberglass bodies, they were not kits. And they only did the 1/10th scale master for a very few projects period, I only saw 4 and I saw all the prototypes. I know this company well and was involved in some projects they did, Tom West has been a friend for 40 years,But you do have a rare piece.
  12. Don't look for this to be released
  13. In 1971 they were mandatory by the NHRA, but roof hatches starting appearing on some funny cars as early as 1966. For 1978 they were mandated to be aluminum like a washing machine cover.... when they went back to the piece that came out of the roof like they do now is a mystery to me!
  14. Anyone notice on the 5 spokes mag wheels they didn't make narrower ones for front wheels, just asking.... great for a lowrider but not for a street rod.. or Gasser
  15. Anyone else having trouble getting them to answer a inquiry about product.
  16. WHY... just to get more money from us..maybe next they will redo the Zingers car in clear.....LOL
  17. Worse thing is and always has been the inaccurate mustang body, it's as bad as the Revell one, neither is a good representation of a Kirby Buttera body.
  18. I bought the kit too today... and it's a great little kit... as a former IPMS vice president and also one of the original owners and founders of SLIXX decals and have had the honor with working with all these companies at one time or another. You can't ever please the "rivet counters"whether it's a kit of a decal.(reason why I left IPMS) .Guys we are lucky were getting new tooling of any kind. To quote my old friend the late Bud "the Kat" Anderson from AMT "it's a nitch industry"period. Observations and feedback for the manufactures are great, but no model is ever going to be perfect. This hobby depends on sales and tooling is so so expensive they really did a good job on this car great great parts and a little flast big deal.. anyone remember MPC kits LOL.This was just my MHO..
  19. No it's the same bad modified body that was in the blue max and hot rod kits from years ago it's not stock but not a kirby buttera body as it should be
  20. Yes good Point... it's not or never was a pro stock kit, pro stock the earliest year of pro stock body style was 1967, the class was formed by the NHRA in 1970.
  21. It's the same body.but they took the old MPC wide slicks and redid them with no raised hollow Goodyear lettering, now they are smooth with pad printed Goodyear on them. Also the kit has newly tooled Halibrands for the front, but it's the same old bad body, the decals have been redone and are nice.
  22. It was originally released as Rob Vandergriff's Soft Seal 57 chevy pro mod/top sportsman car. It's a excellent kit done like Revell/Monogram pro stock kits, no interior door panels and the body lifts off, great details
  23. Stacy David 32 finally coming out it looks like, nice to have the M/T car back.
  24. How about a panel delivery for the 55,56, and 57.
