  1. Heller kit 80722 in 1/24th scale. I'm getting very close to finishing this, but it's been a labour of love. I'm not sure, but I really wonder if Heller simply downscaled the Airfix 1/12th scale kit, as so many of the parts and fitings are extremely delicate and break at the slightest touch. However, it will look good in my collection when done. I don't think this car is available from any other manufacturer in 1/24th scale. I've individually hand laced each wheel spokes in scale, using 13 gauge guitar string, in the correct pattern. Rather weird with 70 spokes each wheel.
  2. I'm building this one at present. You've done a very nice job on it. Not the easiest kit, but then, no Heller kit ever is.
  3. Nice work. From memory, this was a good kit in its day. I built this one about at least 35 years ago, as well as the next year's Suzuki.
  4. Wow, I always thought plastic models didn't appear until the early 1950s, but your article clearly shows they pre-date WWII.
  5. Very nice, well done. I built the hardtop last year, went together very nicely.
  6. Nice detailed build. Very happy with the results. Built out of the box, other than ignition wiring. Paint is British Racing Green from SMS (an Australian local brand for me).
  7. Ugliest golf cart I've ever seen...🤑🤑🤑 Other than that, I have no idea.
  8. Message sent. Right hand drive should give a hint, but I'm keeping my lips buttoned up..
  9. Lots of Aussies here, really. Sydney IPMS member here.
  10. You'll never guess who was silly enough to relace the wheels in the correct pattern to the correct diameter.
  11. Very nice work, It's a beautiful car. Your colour scheme works well. But yours, and mine, and all have I have seen completed appear to have the same very unlike Tamiya fault, in that the front wheel well sides don't clearly match to the body, and leave a gap. The result is that the car sits too high at the front, because the body won't drop down far enough. I don't know what the answer is, really, I've tried a number of things and failed. You might have better luck.
  12. Great topic. I have this kit, and it's moved well up on my list of projects to tackle next. This thread will be very helpful.
  13. The wood are decals. I'm building this myself at present.
  14. It's an ugly beast, but I think I know what it is.
  15. Having lived in New Zealand through the 1960s, I'm well aware of Vauxhalls, which were common there. It helped in tracking it down.
  16. I recognised the brand immediately, but it took me a while to come up with what I think is the answer.
