  1. Will it be a "mixed child"? 1/24-1/25? I'm going to be a first time Grand Dad this summer. Wishing you all well. Bob
  2. Wow! A wall-mounted laptop. Hope there is more trial than error on the windshield chop. Bob
  3. That roofline is waaaaaay off! I read everything, very well done. Bob
  4. Thank you. I have about 5 builds that need seat belts so this will help me. Bob
  5. I had one almost exactly like that one...and wish I still had it. If it is like the one I had you will need to do some modifying to get 4 1/24 scale cars on a shelf but 4 1/25 scale cars should be no problem. You might have to do some form of way to keep the models from shifting when the thing spins. Bob
  6. Very nice build of one of my favorite subjects. I've only done one 43 scale build years ago and should try another one, yours all look great. Bob
  7. There was an ongoing skit on SCTV (Second City TV) that had the same type of character as Cal, but with a wife and not car sales, it was so bad it was great! Bob
  8. Very nice build. What does the console have, is that a screen and cup-holder or gauge? Could you show what you have done with the front suspension, steering-wise? Bob
  9. In my younger days I always had more than enough beers on hand to last an Armageddon. At one point I had a 73 Camaro SS RS. When I popped the hood my first thought was "I could fit a "2-4" (Canadian term) between the rad and the grill. That's when I started to think that I might have a drinking problem. Bob
  10. Will be following along What is the orange frame from? Bob
  11. I am also planning on being there if possible. Bob
  12. A-mur-kins "Eh! Welcome." Canuks "Welcome eh!." Bob
  13. Jay Leno's YouTube site has a bit of everything but one thing that amazed me was how he has to start his steam cars... http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQMELFlXQL38KPm8kM-4Adg Bob
  14. Man, I had that Chevy II combo, probably right when it came out. It so impressed me that it literally has been in some dreams I have had. Bob
  15. Half way down this page (post #8) shows almost exactly what I had years ago... http://forums.aaca.org/f214/decorating-antique-car-memorabillia-322589.html ...it held 4 24th/25th models on a shelf and it lit up and turned. Man I wish I still had it. Bob
  16. I don't see any pictures Andrew. Now I'm going to ask you a silly question...have you tried turning the tires around to see if it's a different sized inside diameter? Bob
  17. Carl, I have maybe a dozen builds that have bodies and/or everything painted and others that have been built but something did not satisfy me and are now stripped. Tom, I'll have to give your tips a try, thanks. Four of my waiting builds need 4 or 5 point belts and I have looked at many of other peoples builds for ideas. Bob
  18. I decided at the end of last year that I was going to build more AND finish them. I now have 6 builds waiting for me to figure out how to make seat belts for them (or get someone to let me use their credit card). I went to my local hobby shop (Panther Hobbies) today for paint, aluminum and brass tubing, razor saw blades...and another kit to build. Bob
  19. A small rodent. Joking! I use a drawer from one of my "parts holder towers", the things that you might buy that are full of nuts and bolts, etc.. I cut some foam just a tad wider than the drawer so it stays put then push the drill bits in it on an angle so they don't get caught while opening/closing the drawer. Bob
  20. An engineer at the aircraft company I worked at once said to me "You have to know when to stop or we will never get anything out of the door." Bob
  21. My Father was a tool and die maker and this box looks like his must have been when he started out, too bad that his box was so worn out it was not worth saving when he passed on. Bob
  22. I will look at my stash and parts thinking of how what would work good with what and store that info in my head. "Think of a happy place" situations are when I imagine putting build ideas together and that works better than I thought it would! I still have build ideas in my head from literally decades ago, even after doing a build I'll be thinking of how I could have done it better or just differently and I try to use glue sparingly in case I want to take builds apart later. I am never satisfied and sometimes having a good imagination is a bad thing. I built a Subaru Brat with kit-bashed drag stuff over 20 years ago then about 10-15 years ago I started another Brat using the Dobbertin (sp?) Pro Stock/Street kit that was about 75% done but now I might take that stuff and use it in a Sunbeam Tiger drag/pro touring theme...all in search of a "biggest in the smallest" idea that will not die. Please brain, make it stop! Bob
  23. I have a real interest in abandoned places, the show "Life After People" was great and I can surf for hours on YouTube. Seeing places stripped to the walls is bad enough but now the big problem is having all the walls torn up from scavengers going after the plumbing and wiring. Sad really. Bob
  24. Welcome Vincent. You might info and humor in this thread... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=77992&hl= ...paying close attention to the post by Harry "The Fletch Avatar" P. Fletch? Bad movie... https://www.google.ca/search?q=fletch&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&gws_rd=cr Bob
